Manufacturer's Description

HD Plasma TV with 600Hz Sub-field Drive, 2 mil:1 Contrast and VIERA Image Viewer
600Hz technology lets you view superb motion images with 720 lines of resolution. For even greater clarity with motion images, Panasonic uses its own unique image-analysis technology. This technology converts the motion in each scene into data. And each frame is practically displayed for a shorter length of time than in previous systems, to reduce aftereffects. *When using Cinema mode

VIERA incorporates an improved panel production process and the new Real Black Drive system. A pre-discharge control system, the Real Black Drive system achieves next-generation black reproduction. When you're watching movies, VIERA renders images just the way the director intended, even in scenes where it's difficult to achieve a proper balance of light and dark.

It's easy to view HD images with the SD card slot. Watch and show your photos and motion images right after you take them. Simply insert an SD Memory Card into VIERA to display photos and videos on the large screen. You can also enjoy special background music, slideshow frames and transition effects.

In Game Mode, quicker image response increases the enjoyment of video games when a game console is connected to the TV. What's more, VIERA produces the dark images in video games more clearly. This mode works with the anti-image retention (wobbling) function, too.

VIERA Link allows the interlinked operation of various AV devices using only the VIERA remote control, by simply connecting the devices to each other by an HDMI cable.

The C3 Series includes a DVB-T2 tuner for Freeview HD providing you with a convenient, subscription free way of watching HD contents like sport, as well as your favourite soaps, dramas and documentaries in full HD glory wherever you are in the UK (Following a one off installation payment for Freesat services whereas for Freeview HD you will need to ensure coverage is available in your local area).

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Panasonic TV, 23 July 2011
By
Sci-Fi-Dan (Norfolk , England) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Panasonic TX-P50C3B 50-inch Widescreen HD Ready Plasma TV with Freeview HD (Electronics)
Had this Excellent 50" tv for 1 day now, I love it, it`s beautiful and looks stunning in black.
I can`t believe how far tv`s have come in the last 6 years, as it looks even better than my older 32" Sony which had a decent picture, and knocks the socks off my previous Sony 37" from 9 foot viewing distance.

I got this as a bedroom set ("I know 50" for a bedroom you say!"), but although the 50" screen size is ridiculous on first look (the delivery box packaging looked huge) and takes about 50% of my end wall, once installed in my room it looked great.
I went for this tv after a lot of deliberation for months (led, lcd, plasma) what to buy + size 42" or 50" ????, but after seeing this I really wanted a decent 50" as i`m an avid PS3 gamer and love my films with my 5.1 surround sound setup, and this tv was ideal for me as I have a viewing distance minimum 9ft to furthest distance 13ft.

Standard definition display is good (but is dependent on the channel, as some channels are better quality than others),the 600hz works really well with sport and action cutting out a lot of the motion fuzz of older tv`s and it handles dvd via scart picture superbly (tested it using the latest StarTrek film = OMG a major :) ).
It is my first plasma set always had tube or lcd`s before, but I have to say this plasma tv I love the best, great picture with deep blacks amazing.
After F1 qualifying i`m going to try out blu-ray`s and gaming on it via PS3, but if the dvd quality is anything to go by, the picture will look absolutely fantastic i`m sure, even on the tv`s 1080i max resolution.

Pro`s:-

1) Great 50" Tv, great picture with deep blacks amazing.

2) Standard definition display is good (minimum viewing distance no less than 8ft I found).

3) Dvd via scart picture playback superb.

4) Blu-ray + gaming will look superb.

5) Do`nt go by the factory power consumption on the box, as I did a power consumption test, and with eco settings on it was an amazingly only 70 watts, 53watts less than amazon stated.

Cons:-

Apart for the screen being quite reflective in daylight, but it doesn`t bother me tbh, none other found yet, but if I do will update.

So overall this is a great 50" tv by Panasonic, if undecided just get it and you won`t be dissapointed. 10/10

UPDATE 24th July:-

TV still 100% no problems day 3.
Have tested tv with blu rays and I can now guarantee this tv definitely does support 1080p 24hz input via HDMI source.

5.0 out of 5 stars exellent purchase, 11 May 2011
This review is from: Panasonic TX-P50C3B 50-inch Widescreen HD Ready Plasma TV with Freeview HD (Electronics)
only had the tv for 2 days but on first impressions a excellent tv dont need to go out and pay a grand + for a tv had a sony that cost me a £1000 3 years ago this tv is less than half the price and this knocks spots of my last tv you only need 1080p if your watching blueray this is only 720p. freeview hd comes in at 1080i so you dont need it.for a basic tv i did not expect it to sing and dance you do get what you pay for but if you have not got a lot of money you will not regret buying this baby exellent picture on hd channels and the sound is good to and a nice looking tv to.after buying this tv i will never go out and pay stupid money again excellent tv.

17/11/11 had tv now for 6 months got to say one of the best purchase iv made in a long while. tv is excellent can not fault it picture is excellent as with all electrical items i buy i allways do my home work i still dont think you can get a better tv for your money.if you think a 50 inch might be to big its not looks great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bargain, 12 Nov 2011
This review is from: Panasonic TX-P50C3B 50-inch Widescreen HD Ready Plasma TV with Freeview HD (Electronics)
The Panasonic tx-p50c3b plasma screen is a bargain. For £470 from direct tvs you get a 50 inch plasma screen thats really nice looking and gives a great picture, even after the 3 days i've had it.Even though it's only 720p it doesn't matter if your sat more than six feet away,i can't tell the difference.I had a Panasonic tx-p42g20 before and you can only tell the difference when you get close. The tv has four viewing modes normal best for everyday viewing and cinema or true cinema for movies.Dynamic is far too bright and game mode is good for video games. The 600hz works well with motion and my toy story blu-ray collection looks great, there is also a Sdhc card slot for viewing photo's and an ethernet connection for updating the tv software. These tv's have cheaper glass panels in than the more expensive giving some minor refections depending on lighting, but you can't complain given the price.I would recommend using Blu-ray with this tv,it looks sharper than dvd and the freeview HD channels look a lot sharper than SD broadcasts,it's time SD went for good. Conclusion,if you just want a 50 screen that gives off great pictures and has built in freeview Hd,this is an absolute bargain.
