Brilliant Motion Clarity with 600Hz Sub-field Drive

The 600Hz sub-field drive in combination with the newly developed Fast Switching Phosphors offers crisp &Clear moving pictures. This unique image-analysis technology converts the motion in each scene into data for faster display of frame images compared to previous 600Hz systems.

The UK broadcast system is sent at the rate of 50 frames per second (50Hz), so every second of watching, 50 pictures are sent to the TV. Each of the 50 frames consists of sub-field images based on the brightness &Tonal characteristics of a picture in a frame.

With VIERA Plasma TV with 600Hz sub-field drive, up to 12 sub-field images per frame are displayed. It is said that the higher the number of subfields the greater the colour is &The smoother the picture is. This is why our 600Hz system delivers rich colour and smooth motion pictures.

Active shutter glasses help to create stunning FULL HD 3D (glasses not included).

Active Shutter Glasses

When you watch 3D on a TV, even a slight blur can negatively affect the level of immersion. To get the best 3D picture quality possible, Panasonic employs Active Shutter Glasses (not included) which are synchronised to the frame sequential driving of the TV. With this technology the viewer enjoys a cinema-like resolution of 1920 x 1080 for each eye. Viewers can then enjoy a gripping 3D experience without resolution and viewing angle deterioration.

Highly precise timing control for the opening &Closing of the shutters minimises unwanted light leakage (minimising shading ratio of over 1/1000) to enable clear 3D viewing. Both shutters on the 3D Eyewear close completely during the short gap between the right &Left plasma signal emission to match the luminescence characteristics of the plasma display.

Latest screen technology minimises mutual interference from left and right frames. .

Clear 3D Images

New phosphor technology prevents crosstalk in 3D - The use of new fast switching phosphors has significantly reduced the afterglow time. The emission time and process have also been improved to minimise mutual interference of the frames for the left and right-eye images to greatly reduce crosstalk. The resulting 3D images are extremely high in quality.

Deeper Blacks &Higher Contrast

In new VIERA models, contrast and black levels have been significantly improved especially in bright surroundings. Enhancements to the panel and cells help reproduce images with smooth, natural gradation and deep, rich blacks. In movies, the true, deep blacks faithfully convey the intent of the filmmakers, adding power and realism to the viewing experience.
