Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

HD IPS LCD with VIERA Image Viewer, VIERA Link and Game Mode
The wide 178°* viewing angle ensures clear images even when viewed from an angle. The backlight's wide transmission aperture enhances the contrast between light and dark, and improves motion-image response. *Measured at an angle where the contrast ratio is 10:1 or higher.

It's easy to view images with the SD card slot. Watch and show your photos and motion images right after you take them. Simply insert an SD Memory Card into VIERA to display photos and videos on the large screen. An easy-to-see, easy-to-use thumbnail display has also been added. You can also enjoy special background music, slideshow frames and transition effects.

VIERA Link allows the interlinked operation of various AV devices using only the VIERA remote control, by simply connecting the devices to each other by an HDMI cable.

In Game Mode, quicker image response increases the enjoyment of video games when a game console is connected to the TV. What's more, VIERA produces the dark images in video games more clearly. This mode works with the anti-image retention (wobbling) function, too.

V-Audio Surround produces a depth-sound-image effect by early-reflection data based on actual room measurement, that is generated from the digital signal processor.

Purchased recently for my parents who are in their eighties.

My Dad described receiving this TV and setting it up as like having a Christmas present. He cannot sing its praises highly enough!

We purchased a Toshiba 32AV713B 32-inch Widescreen HD Ready Digital LCD TV with Freeview first and some of the comments are based on comparisons with this model. We were lucky to pay only 60 more for the Panasonic (both from Amazon) but the average price difference between the two is at least 100 which may explain some of the quality differences.

Overall the quality is well above the Toshiba which itself has numerous excellent comments for the previous comparable model.

The Panasonic quality of manufacture is excellent. Default picture settings are easy on the eye.

The user guide is comprehensive; very well written and easy to follow. It enables connection and setup with complete confidence. Especially recommended for the elderly as it gives clear, concise, well explained instructions with good cross referencing. It explains all the features fully, and gives satisfaction and pleasure of ownership through the understanding and awareness of the features.

My mother is hard of hearing and listens through headphones at high volume whilst my father and anyone else use the normal speakers. No Panasonic TVs cut-off the speaker volume when headphones are inserted (Panasonic Dealer).

The Toshiba AV model TV along with all other makes to my knowledge cuts off the speaker volume when the headphone jack is inserted this clearly did not suit my parent's needs.

I've had this TV about a month now and I really love it. Its easy to assemble (the instructions suggested it needed at least two people, but I did it on my own) and its auto-tune feature means its really simple to get it up and running. I'm not at all technically minded but it was just a case of plugging it in and following the on-screen prompts. The picture is sharp and clear, and the same can be said about the sound. I thought that, only having a 26" screen before, the 32" screen would be a little big for my small living room but I am used to it now and am very pleased I decided on this model. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cracking Value Panasonic! 12 Nov 2010
Verified Purchase
I bought television for aged mother in the run up to the digital switchover. The size of screen was constrained by the fact that she wanted it to fit in her existing cabinet, and whilst 32" sounds pretty generous, I am now so used to watching 42" or 46" screens, that this almost seems diddy in comparison.

The TV itself is very easy to set up, and the stand seems very secure. The picture quality is good, although I did have the alter the settings to make the image brighter. The sound quality is good too.

If I was in the market for a TV this size, I would buy one for myself. At this price point for a quality brand like Panasonic, you cannot go wrong.

Ordered a 32" TV to replace an old style 20" - the size is taking a bit of getting used to! But the picture is nice and clear and the controls on the remote are easy to work out.

One thing it is worth mentioning, the second day we went to switch it on, we thought it had developed a fault as it wouldn't turn on. If the TV is left in standby mode, to switch back on you must press the 'on' button on the remote for a few seconds holding down until the red light on the TV turns green. We weren't pressing the button for long enough.

The viewing angle is great, the TV can be viewed from any accessible angle in our small living room, I would say over 45 deg variation required, and picture is nice and clear at all times.

Went for a Panasonic TV because of the good reviews especially from Which and we are not disappointed!

3.0 out of 5 stars Aspect ratio and subtitle problem 30 Sep 2010
I recently bought this TV for someone who is hard of hearing. Unfortunately, switching on subtitles causes it to go into 16:9 aspect ratio, regardless of the programme. It is not possible to change the aspect ratio manually while subtitles are on. This means that old films, for example, have to be watched with either no subtitles, or with strong image distortion. I have emailed Panasonic customer care - if they have a solution I will update this review.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great Panasonic TV 20 July 2010

This gives you the best in LCD TVs'. Easily set up straight from the box. It self tunes all available Freeview and Analogue TV programmes. No need to twiddle with the picture or sound settings as they are pre-set to be perfect.A beautiful sleek black cabinet completes this very nice bit of kit.You can ask no more of any TV. Ten gold star rating would be nearer the mark I believe.

Panasonic quality again. This LCD TV has an excellent picture and a comprehensive but easy-to-use menu. Bought it with the Amazon Basics HDMI cable and works perfectly without the need for the cumbersome scart cable. Top marks and a top price from Amazon again.
