Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

Full-HD IPS LCD with Freeview HD & Freesat HD built-in, Intelligent Frame Creation Pro, VIERA CAST and VIERA Image Viewer

The G20 Series includes a DVB-S tuner for Freesat HD and a DVB-T2 tuner for Freeview HD providing you with a convenient, subscription free way of watching HD contents like sport, as well as your favourite soaps, dramas and documentaries in full HD glory wherever you are in the UK*. Even fast-moving scenes are displayed sharply and clearly. With a 50Hz video signal input, Intelligent Frame Creation Pro makes 100 frames/second from 50 frames/second. This increases the frame count to allow natural frame-to-frame transitions, for smooth motion images with high resolution. VIERA also uses motion focus technology to greatly enhance resolution.

Enjoy Internet content right on your TV. With VIERA CAST you can enjoy online videos, photos, and more. You can also check sports, news, weather and stock information with an easy-to-use Web interface that's built into the TV. What’s more, VIERA CAST's assorted online content has new additions, including the remarkably popular Skype™ and Twitter® applications. VIERA CAST not only offers unique web entertainment but also expands your forms of communication.

It's easy to view full-HD images with the SD card slot. Watch and show your photos and motion images right after you take them. Simply insert an SD Memory Card into VIERA to display photos and full-HD videos on the large screen. An easy-to-see, easy-to-use thumbnail display has also been added. You can also enjoy special background music, slideshow frames and transition effects.

The wide 178°* viewing angle ensures clear images even when viewed from an angle. The backlight's wide transmission aperture enhances the contrast between light and dark, and improves motion-image response. *Measured at an angle where the contrast ratio is 10:1 or higher.

Make your home even more comfortable by linking your digital home appliances with DLNA. This new system lets you share images, music and other content through DLNA-compatible TVs and computers connected to a router over a LAN network. You can also enjoy the contents in different rooms.

*Following a one off installation payment for Freesat services whereas for Freeview HD you will need to ensure coverage is available in your local area.

This is an all singing all dancing TV which was very easy to set up for freeviewHD, freesatHD and internet access. It works beautifully with my laptop when streaming BBC iPlayer, and it really takes control of my Panasonic TZ10 Lumix camera through the Viera link thingy. It is far better than my 5 year old 26 inch set, especially when I notice I paid over £1200 for it. Highly recommended especially at the current bargain prices.

The brightness control problem experienced by the first reviewer is easily overcome (see my post in the comments).

    Great TV 25 Oct 2010

Great TV. Easy to use, now have the 32 and 37 inch models both with freesat. Also added Netgear RangeMax Dual Band Wireless-N USB 2.0 Adaptor from Amazon trader netpyramiddistributionltd ( do not try from another retailer without asking first, as must be the latest version 2 to work on these panasonic TV's) for wireless internet access on the TV. Great for BBC iPlayer etc.

    Panasonic TX-L32G20B 29 Oct 2010

I just thought I'd leave a quick review having read the previous reviews posted before I finally decided to take the plunge. I had seen last years' Panasonics playing SD TV and they looked miles better than everything else in the shop, however a couple of reviews here made me hesitate. My main concern was that the SD picture wouldn't be too good - thankfully it is and the HD picture is outstanding (on both Freeview and FreeSat). As pointed out above the C.A.T.S. system dulls things down but can easily be turned off. I was also surprised by how good the sound is - far better than the Samsung CRT I was watching previously. I'm really happy with the TV and look forward to using the iPlayer functions when I get hold of a compatible Wifi dongle.
