Manufacturer's Description

Full HD LCD TV with freesat built-in Superb Moving Picture Quality, Wide Viewing Angle and Advanced Networking Capabilities

“freesat” is a digital satellite service that offers free HD (High-definition) TV programmes. With the G10 series, you can enjoy sharp pictures, vivid colours, multi-channel sound, and various services with the interactive contents.

Even fast-moving scenes are displayed sharply and clearly. With a 50-Hz video signal input, 100-Hz Intelligent Frame Creation makes 100 frames/sec from 50 frames/sec. This increases the frame count to allow natural frame-to-frame transitions, for smooth motion images with high resolution. VIERA also uses motion focus technology that greatly enhances resolution.

Ultimate ContrastThe wide 178° viewing angle* ensures clear images even when viewed from an angle. The backlight's wide transmission aperture enhances the contrast between light and dark, and improves motion-image response. * Measured at an angle where the contrast ratio is 10:1 or higher.

Enjoy realistic starlit skies right in your living room. Improvements in panel contrast and scene-adaptive contrast gamma correction have achieved a high contrast ratio of 20,000:1. The backlight tuning area is also expanded to achieve deeper blacks. *When using Dynamic mode

VIERA Link allows interconnected operation of various AV devices using only the VIERA remote control, by simply connecting the devices to each other by an HDMI cable. VIERA Link performance has been further enhanced with LUMIX digital camera connection. By connecting a new LUMIX camera that has an HDMI output terminal to VIERA, you can use the VIERA remote to control the playback of images stored on the camera.

It's easy to view full-HD images with the SD card slot. Watch and show your photos and motion images right after you take them. Simply insert an SD Memory Card into VIERA to display photos and full-HD videos on the large screen. You can also choose from among 3 types of background music and 4 display effects.

VIERA Eco friendly features

The major environmental impacts are emission of CO 2, waste, and chemical substances. Panasonic focuses its efforts to reduce these CO2 emissions as far as possible already during the product development phase.

VIERA Link – saving energy with Eco Mode

As people become more aware about environmental concerns, the power consumption of their electronic products presents itself. To improve on the environmental impact of power consumption, Panasonic has introduced an Eco Mode as standard in most of its VIERA TVs. By activating the Eco Mode, a photo sensor measures the ambient light conditions of the room and the picture settings adjust automatically. As a result, the TV uses less power in darkly-lit conditions without any compromise of the picture quality.

VIERA Tough Panelfreesat _multiple_screens

Build to resist – VIERA Tough Panel* Panasonic VIERA Plasma TVs* are protected by a front sheet of glass resistant to impacts of up to four joules. This is particularly reassuring for families with small children who may otherwise inadvertently damage the screen when playing. Also, the growing success of games consoles using motion controllers has led to an increase in TVs being accidentally struck and damaged by controllers which have slipped out of player’s hands. Thanks to VIERA plasma TVs’ Tough Panel you don’t need to worry. And what’s more, the protective panel makes cleaning easier too, simply wipe with a soft cloth when necessary.

*Not applicable to VIERA Z1 TV series.

Panasonic VIERA Link

VIERA Link uses the control signals that are transmitted through an HDMI cable for automated functions. Just press the VIERA Link button on the VIERA TV remote to control your entire Panasonic components including Home Cinema Systems, HD camcorder and Lumix digital cameras. In 2009 the VIERA Link concept has been further developed, providing you even more functions. For example, Eco Link which helps you to save energy by putting all connected Panasonic devices into sleep mode when they are not used.

Viera link technology connects all your home entertainmentTurning your home TV-viewing experience into a cinematic one

Enjoy films at home as the directors originally intended them for the cinema. Hollywood movies are shot at 24 frames per second which gives films the superb, cinematic, slightly flickering quality we associate with them at the movie theatre. When recorded to DVD or Blu-ray Disc™, they are also generally encoded using 24p (24 frames per second, progressive) technology.

24p Playback

For a thrilling cinema-feeling at home, you need more than just brilliant colours and the highest contrast possible: like the cinema projector, the television should also be able to show films at their original frame rate of 24 pictures per second.

When watching Blu-ray Disc™ films on a NeoPDP TV, the television synchronises its image reproduction rate with the original, precisely rendering the film’s true speed – a must-have for experiencing that genuine cinema feeling in the comfort of your living room. In VIERA LCD TVs, every frame is shown 4 times, which increases the 24p signal to 96Hz. So you can enjoy movies at their original frame rate, just as the director intended.

24p Smooth Film

However, the issues start when we want to view them on our home TVs which operate at a slightly higher number of frames per second. For perfectly smooth movie images at home, 24p Smooth Film increases the number of frames displayed. That means new frames are inserted, based on the original 24 frames of the movie source, and the frame count is increased to up to 96 frames per second, resulting in unrivalled smoothness and motion transition.

VIERA Link Experience – One Remote, Total Control

Operate your entire home entertainment hub with the comfort of just a single remote control. Through VIERA Link on-screen menus you have easy access to your movies, music and even videos* on your iPod®**

VIERA Link Functionality

Although Panasonic's engineers spend a lot of time thinking about how to enhance the already formidable picture quality of the latest VIERA Plasma TVs, Blu-ray player, or the audio clarity of Panasonic Home Cinema Systems; they do also think about "friendly" technologies: technologies which make operating these devices easier for users -- an innovative example is VIERA Link.

What is VIERA Link?

How are people currently operating their AV products? Suppose you want to watch the latest film on a Blu-ray DiscTM: first you would have to power up the Blu-ray player with your Blu-ray player remote control, and then you need to turn on your TV and select the correct AV channel input using your TV remote control. After that you would switch back to the Blu-ray player remote control and press 'Play'. In case you also have a Home Cinema System you would need another remote control to operate your Home Cinema System properly. So before you can lean back and enjoy your movie, you are forced to use three completely different remote controls! VIERA Link on simply allows you to operate the three systems, your TV, Blu-ray player and Home Cinema System with just one remote control.

One Remote, Total Control: The VIERA Link Experience

VIERA Link allows just one point of contact between you and your entire entertainment system, because by pressing the VIERA Link button on your remote, the GUI (graphical user interface) on-screen menus allow you to choose directly, no matter if you would like to watch a DVD, play a CD or even browse the latest music or video on your iPod®**

Smart, easy setup with VIERA Link

VIERA Link also automatically sets up your various AV components. For example, when you first connect your DVD Home Cinema System to a VIERA TV via an HDMI cable, all of the necessary settings such as menu language and aspect ratio are automatically loaded onto your Home Cinema System, meaning that you don’t have to waste time and effort repeating the set-up again. With VIERA Link you have one remote, one graphic menu and a complete entertainment experience.

*To enjoy iPod® video content, you will need to connect the Panasonic Home Cinema System via a SCART cable to your TV. **iPod® not included. iPod® is a trademark of Apple Inc., registered in the US and other countries.

5.0 out of 5 stars High Quality TV, 13 Sep 2009
This review is from: Panasonic TX-L32G10B 32-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p LCD TV with Freesat - Installation Recommended (Electronics)
Having stood in John Lewis and spent some time oggling all the TV's on show, when comparing like for like, the saturation of colours, crispness of picture and viewing angle of this TV appeared to me to be superior to the SONY rival of a similar specification.

Now home - the picture quality of this TV is still its strongest point. When paired with a blu ray player and a disc such as BBC's 'Nature's Great Events' the picture is excellent. The definition of the colours is very strong and a good replication of reality. The motionflow also seems to be keep things smooth.

Generally the TV has a feel of quality from the remote to the TV guide. The setup was very easy with both Freeview and Freesat. It's worth spending a bit of time tweaking the settings to optimise the picture.

Would thoroughly recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars Only a few minor changes would make a 100% perfect set, 16 Sep 2009
This review is from: Panasonic TX-L32G10B 32-inch Widescreen Full HD 1080p LCD TV with Freesat - Installation Recommended (Electronics)
The picture on this set is excellent in SD or HD. There is no discernible digital noise around moving images (at least of those seen so far) which normally you see on the 50Hz sets. Set-up was easy and the remote buttons are large enough for any size hands or eyesight - if that concerns you.

I love the "other sat" option that allows you to tune in for instance channels on Astra 19 as well as the Freesat channels on Astra 28. This however also has a minor problem that if fixed would have made the set absolutely perfect for me - there is no option to allow the tuner to turn a satellite dish and so if you intend to use this option you will need either separate satellite tuner to drive the motor or 2 dishes and 2 cables that you change at the back of the set?! (or maybe there is a satellite cable 2 into 1 connector. I am not sure why Panasonic included this option without the ability to move a dish although the option itself is a very welcome option for me, it's just that it seems like half of an implementation.

Also a minor irritation is that there is no picture shown on the guide, the space is taken by advertising.

Another great thing is that even when you have recorded DVD's in an incorrect format for widescreen it allows you to change this so that the display is corrected. Whether this works for all incorrect formats I cannot say, but it did change settings so that my 16:9 DVD that played in a window with borders top and bottom played correctly.
Get ready to buy more disks to record onto though because the picture is so good it encourages you to record in High Quality to see it on your DVD's too.

For the picture and normal settings this set gets 5* from me.
For the lack of the satellite motor control and picture in picture guide probably it should be 4 or 4.5*
