Pansonic 2008 TVsTHE VIERA MISSION 2008
When Panasonic first introduced their award-winning VIERA range of televisions, the aim was to give consumers the pinnacle of a viewing experience – an experience so real, so true-to-life, that viewers would unwittingly feel themselves to be almost part of the on-screen action. Now in 2008, the year of the summer Olympic Games, no other company is better placed and able to deliver every second of the action from the stadia into your living room than Panasonic. Panasonic has been responsible for relaying the Olympics to our homes for the past 20 years. Since the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, Panasonic has exclusively provided professional broadcast cameras, editing consoles, monitors, and recording media to the international Olympic Broadcast Centres which beam images of the games around the world. 2008 will mark the first time that the entire production of an Olympic games will be done in High Definition – meaning that viewers will be able to experience all the events with unparalleled clarity and crispness thanks to Panasonic technology. Thanks to Panasonic HD technology and the highly developed motion technologies in our VIERA TVs, millions of people around the world will be able to follow the ceremony and the proceeding games as intensely as if they were there in person – without missing a moment!

VReal image processing

V-Real

IPS LCD Panels

IPS ALPHA PANELS

Many LCDs suffer from colour wash-out when not viewed from directly in front – a big problem if you have a large family trying to watch a film together. However the latest generation of IPS (In-Plane Switching) technology, manufactured in-house by Panasonic, builds on years of experience with industry leading wide viewing angle technology, providing an unrivalled LCD TV viewing experience. New generation (or "alpha") IPS provides the widest viewing angle possible with the least colour washout, even when viewed from the side. Our LCD panels are built on the strengths of IPS by delivering faster response time and reproducing intense realistic deep black levels and contrast ratios, especially when employed with Panasonic Intelligent Scene Controller technology.

178 Degree Viewing angle

WIDE 178 DEGREE VIEWING

VIERA LCD IPS alpha panels have a viewing angle of 178 degrees both vertically and horizontally, eliminating faded images that can occur by viewing the panel from certain seating positions. The extra-wide viewing angle makes VIERA LCDs perfect when watching TV with the entire family or a group of friends.

24P Playback

24P PLAYBACK - 24P REAL CINEMA

When reproducing a 24p movie source, the 24p Real Cinema function generates smooth motion transition based on the original 24 frames. Models that do not include 24p Real Cinema are equipped with 24p Playback. The 24p Playback function provides cinema-like images by using a pull-down up to 96Hz.

this tv is amazing! i have been after an lcd for ages, to go with my ps3. ive looked at sony, lg, phillips, jvc and many more in the 26 - 32 inch class. if you want to spend between 350 and 400 you have to try and stretch and spend extra on this tv. i got mine for 410 but even at 489 there is nothing else out there with a comparable spec. the picture is massively different from an analogue picture and the ps3 playing games or blue ray is like nothing i would have expected - mgs4 and gta4 look like your watching a film. the sound is fine, its deep and solid. its 10 times better than any of my old tv's but is obviously never going to be better than anything a home cinema system can do, but as long as your not expecting that then you will not be dissappointed.

there is absolutely nothing bad i can find about the tv. if you are swaying between 26 or 32 inch size, and whether or not you need 100hz picture quality dont consider it anymore, just get this tv because its something of a false economy going for something maybe 50 - 100 cheaper. youll just end up wishing you had this. as a bonus the tv also seems to be 1080p hd, even the operation manual says so, although im inclined to think that the picture just gets converted from 1080i.

Very pleased with this set-sound is fine-32'' more than adequate for medium sized room and picture quality excellent.X-box 360 games have taken on a new life.Very happy to have made move from C.R.T screen-this set is much smarter whether on or off and very simple to set up.Remote control makes sense and tuning options all seem user friendly and intuitive.Thoroughly recommended.

I originally bought a 37" 1080p toshiba tv from amazon but sent it back after 1 day as the performance i felt was woeful. I decided to stick with my original instinct and go for a 32" and after careful research i settle on the panasonic. There is a 1080p version of the TV the TX32LZD85 however i had the privalage of viewing both of these tvs side by side playing a blueray movie and to be honest i could not tell the difference even looking very closely and the level of detail and colour depth on both is outstanding, even blacks are superb. The quality of SD is also excellent especially football on sky, i have seen hd football and yes ofcourse the picture is clearer however this set does an awesome job of upscaling and also motion blur is non existant - very impostand for sport and football in particular. SD DVD is also brilliant with great definition again due to the tvs built in upscaler.
So sorry to babble on but if your in doubt, dont be. Buy this TV, for me the best 32" on the market.

I usually do my homework before buying anything, and I was particularly picky regarding the 32' TV for my bedroom, as I own a XBOX 360 and love HD channels.
First I wanted a full HD (1080p), then most experts said one can not tell the difference in 32' TVs; they convinced me. Then I was tempted by cheap models with good features (including some with full HD), but further research showed several flaws on all of them: dead pixels, wrong screen format (14:10), bad resolution, color accuracy, etc.
In the end, as imagined, the decision was between samsung, panasonic and sony. Samsung is the bestseller brand and some good models are cheap, a safe bet, while Sony has several models for 32's, but only the very expensive ones have good reviews.
Then I found this panasonic model that, by far, had the best reviews for its characteristics, a bit pricier than samsung's and a bargain compared with sony's. Additionally, the 100hz feature was something that everybody praised as distintive.
To sum up, I have it for over a month and the research defenitely worth it. They say that the definition of wealth is if you earn $100 more than your sister in law's husband.. Well, compared with all the TVs from neighbors, father in law, brother, etc.. mine really stands from the competition: Colors are impressive and keeps up with XBOX's speed, HD Channels superb, etc.
I hope that I provided some useful insights. That is why I read reviews!

Did the research on a new LCD and this product kept coming back to me. In a nutshell, it doesn't disappoint. Out of the box the set looks the part. There is an auto set up (finding freeview channels) upon starting for the first time and the picture was impressive. Knowing what BBC1 looked like (using no freeview input) into my old CRT I was suitably impressed with the LXD85. Sit back and enjoy images which are vivid, rich and blacks are good. Plus of course it's sharp. Can't wait to see a HD signal some time soon. DVDs fair well, but I would say there is not any significant improvement (even using an upscaling player + HDMI cable comparing to my old TV and a decent scart). Sound is acceptable but nothing special. Recommended!

Bought this tv for my mum who is 77 , You put batteries in the remote and plug tv in and off you go. No down side at all dont get to involved with the instruction manual as it is a bit long winded . Use it as you go along and the bonus is the sd slot my mum now has a 32 inch photo frame as a bonus. Good delivery as well , came 2 days before the earliest date given 10/10
