5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent product - Highly Recommended., 8 Dec 2007
By Rainman (Suffolk, England) - See all my reviews
We have had a pair of Panasonic DECT phones (model KX-TCD410) for over four years now and they have proved very reliable. However I was always disappointed with them as the Caller List didn't store the date & time of each call, despite this information being sent by the telephone exchange (if you subscribe to Caller Display. Now that we need more than two handsets, I chose the KX-TG7200 series as a replacement. The 7200 series has a very good specification, and it is very easy to use.

Here are some of the features that are NOT mentioned in the instruction manual:

Calling List. If you subscribe to Caller Display then the Calling List shows the number (or name, if in the phonebook) of each caller together with Date & Time of each incoming call.

Date & Time setting. If you subscribe to Caller Display, the first incoming call will set (or reset) the system to the correct date and time - no need to enter it!

Power supply interruption. The Phonebook, Calling List and all Messages are retained if there is a Mains electricity failure. All the above are retained even if all the handset batteries are removed - only the Date & Time setting is lost. This is particularly important to me as I live in a rural area and Mains interruptions are not uncommon.

The ability to export the phonebook to other phones is very useful - you just have to remember to do it every time you add an entry.

Regarding a comment elsewhere on stability, I haven't found this a problem. The handsets will fall out of the cradles in a forward direction if pulled forward but this is does enable the phones to be picked out of their cradles easily - you don't have to lift them at a particular angle. Sideways stability is fine.

Finally I found that I could register my old 410 handsets to the 7200 base unit, so we now have six phones that can be used directly to make or receive calls, and in intercom mode!

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, but beware of missing feature, 10 Jan 2008

This KX-TG7224ES is a super product and works very well. Please note that it does NOT have a headset jack as indicated in the description on Amazon and the Panasonic web-site. Choose KX-TG7160 or TG8120 or TG8090 if you want a headset function.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent DECT phone system, 22 Feb 2008
Having recently bought (and got rid of) a disappointing Philips pair of DECT phones we bought the quad pack of these phones a month ago and to date they have performed very well. The batteries charge quickly and easily, the displays are easy to read, the phones copy the phone-books to each other easily and the sound quality is very good too. The intercom function is handy for summoning the kids. We don't use the answer machine facility but it is ready to use if we want with the press of a button. All in all I expect we will using these for a long time to come. Not the cheapest phones out there but we tried those and wasted our time and money. Recommended.
