SC-PT70 features a 1080p up-conversion function that converts standard definition (720 x 576 pixels) images from DVD sources to high definition (1920 x 1080 pixels) images. These up-converted signals draw out the maximum performance of an HDMI compatible 1080p HDTV, giving you vivid, sharp and exceptionally detailed high-resolution images to enjoy.
In the past, when you were watching a movie late at night with the volume turned down, the surround effect would be lost. Not with Whisper-mode Surround. It compensates for the sound pressure level of the low-frequency component which contains the signals that affect the surround effect, so you’re enveloped in a rich surround sound even when watching movies at low volume.

I was always going to be expecting something of good quality as it was a Panasonic product, but it was the cheap price that made me have doubts.
After setting this up in the lounge, the full surround experience is fantastic with perfect sound quality

I am very happy with this product, the sound is tops. The only down side is the cables for the speakers is very short i have had to use extentions on all of them. Not like the last panasonic i had. But all in all good stuff

Bought this as my first foray into surround sound, about a month ago-absolutley fantastic! Easy to install and great sound in our relatively small lounge. If you've got a Panasonic TV then life is even easier. Highly recommend it.

Easy to set up. Sound quality pretty good for a budget package, but do not expect it to fill a large room. Read more

panasonic hdmi dvd home theatre - excellent
Brilliant product. DVD is easy to use and sound is perfect for our small lounge. Only negative is the wiring had to be extended on the speakers.
