The seriously stylish Panasonic SC-HC30DBEB-S all-in-one micro system features a unique motorised panel that slides open for easy access to CDs and the integral iPod/iPhone dock.
It is compatible with CD-R/RW as well as MP3 CDs, and can perform multiple CD functions such as random, programme and repeat.
Thanks to two 6.5cm advanced bamboo cone speakers your favourite tracks will always sound their best. There’s even a 4-preset equaliser which lets you personalise the sound to your taste. You'll also be able to listen to DAB, FM and MW broadcasts with up to 30 presets for instant access to your favourite stations.

I had the previous model to this, the SC-HC3DB, which went wrong after six months and I was given my money back. I replaced it with the latest model, the SC-HC30DB.
Although the units look almost identical the new model's radio is apalling. On both FM and DAB I could not get decent reception.
Initially I thought it was a fault as the old model was fine in exactly the same location with the same aerial so sent it back to Amazon for a replacement. Unfortunately the replacement was exactly the same, so it too has gone back.
So, in conclusion if you have a strong radio signal then you'll probably love this unit. Otherwise leave well alone.
Assuming you have a good signal or don't care about the radio then I don't reckon you will find (IMO) a more aesthetically pleasing, good sounding iPOD dock which will sit neatly on a window cill or shelf.
Even the remote is really well laid out and very intuitive. I personally think it sounds as good as the Bose units at well over twice the price, and they don't look as nice or have a radio/CD.
I have now bought the old model second hand on Ebay and am glad to say it works fine.
Panasonic, I hope you are reading this; I'm not the only person who thinks the radio on this unit is poor.
Oh and finally, Amazon's customer service deserves a mention they are just brilliant.

I've had this for about 4 days now and am very pleased with it. It's stylish, functional and produces very good quality sound. OK, spend another £100 and you'll get even better sound but it's not worth doing in my opinion. The DAB radio works a treat with just the aerial wire dangling at the back.
Good things: Quality; Sound reproduction; Ease of use; Good looks; Lovely door slider that keeps iPod and CDs out of sight; Remote control operates all the functions.
A couple of very small grumbles: Don't install it too high, as the controls are on the top (having said that, the remote control will operate it anyway); The stored radio stations are in alphabetical order so if you want, for instance, Kiss FM. you have to scroll through the As, Bs, Cs etc to get there. There are 5 pre set Equalisers which might be limiting for some people, I would have preferred perhaps 8 pre sets.
These are minor niggles so please don't be put off....it's a good system.

Having read earlier reviews on the Amazon website, we were nervous of buying this unit - particularly in the light of comments re poor radio reception. We unpacked it very carefully, with the expectation that a 'return to Amazon' had a real odds-on chance, given we were wanting to site it in our lounge as far away from an external window/wall as you can get.
In the end, we shouldn't have worried. The DAB reception is perfect - although FM is not that great. (We wondered whether having it sited adjacent to an internal wall, against which we could spread the aerial, helped?)
Anyway, its sleak design and multi function capability (DAB/CD/iPod) were just what we were looking for.
