Incredible Surround Sound
3D Cinema Surround
Cinema Surround is a state-of-the-art Panasonic technology that simulates the sound stage of a real cinema. 3D Cinema Surround in the 2012 models provides authentic surround sound through a total of 30 real and virtual speakers. Sound is perceived as coming from the correct direction thanks to Panasonic’s proprietary direction perception control technology made possible by years of research. At last, surround sound matches the immersive effect of 3D images.
Anti-Jitter Digital Amplifier
Based on the phenomenal MASH noise shaping technology used for many years in Panasonic products, the Anti-Jitter Digital Amplifier markedly reduces jitter and distortion that can affect audio clarity, producing pure brilliant sound.
Digital Audio Connection for iPod/iPhone
Panasonic pioneered the iPod Dock for music systems, and now stay one step ahead by introducing a direct digital connection. Most docking systems convert the digital audio playback to analogue which can result in loss of data and introduce unwanted noise. The Digital Dock on Panasonic systems however, maintain the digital signal to the amplifier resulting in a pure and accurate sound reproduction.
Bamboo Charcoal Speaker Cone
Bamboo is a sustainable material that has great properties for clear audio reproduction when used to replace conventional speaker cone material. By carbonising the bamboo fibres to charcoal, this makes a lighter material that means faster response speed and reduced resonance.
Touch Pad Remote
The Anti-Distortion speaker cone structure features an uneven thickness for the rear surface of the speaker cone. This inspired moulded pattern manufacturing process serves to suppress resonance, producing clear sound and minimising unwanted noise.
Anti Jitter Digital Amp
Down Firing Subwoofer
The Down Firing Subwoofer achieves powerful bass by releasing the sound downward from the speaker unit and port, and utilising the sound reflected from the floor or other surface.
Awe-inspiring 3D and Outstanding picture quality
The True to Cinema Picture Concept
3D from the heart of Hollywood - Since 1992, Panasonic has maintained a close working relationship with the top Hollywood film studios. Establishing Panasonic Hollywood Laboratory on the site of Universal Studios, this state of the art research and development centre began working on the Telecine and encoding process for the development of DVD. It continues to this day but has evolved in to one of the key encoding and authoring houses for Blu-ray and 3D Blu-ray. These activities have enabled PHL to accumulate the know-how necessary to faithfully reproduce original movie images on Blu-ray discs and have led to the development of the advanced imaging processors and chip-sets used in our range of DVD and Blu-ray players. The results are clear to see in our award winning models that achieve truly beautiful images with even more realism, depth and texture.
2D to 3D Conversion
Watch 2D videos in 3D, even movies streamed "On Demand" - Of course it's going to take time to build your collection of 3D movies. So Panasonic offer 2D-3D Conversion that enables conversion of regular 2D DVDs and Blu-ray Discs into 3D images with natural depth perception. Watch your prized DVD movie collection in 3D for even greater viewing enjoyment. New for 2012, models can also convert content from the on-line VIERA Connect services, including Video-on-Demand, into 3D.
Smart TV and Networking
Panasonic VIERA Connect
A whole host of on-line entertainment delivered to your TV - Panasonic upgraded its home AV online platform from VIERA CAST to VIERA Connect in Autumn 2011. By connecting this device to your Broadband router, you can access a wide range of internet services such as catch-up TV, sports news, weather info, movies-on-demand and games. Viera Connect not only offers users greater convenience but greatly enhances enjoyment as well. Now, you can enjoy an even wider variety of Internet content with family and friends from the comfort of your living room.
DLNA - Enjoy Music, Video or Photo contents stored on your PC in another room
The Digital Living Network Alliance was set up by a number of software and hardware manufacturers to enable products to communicate with one another in a home network. DLNA-certified Blu-ray Disc™ Players and Home Cinema Systems can share or stream content stored on other DLNA-certified products. Share and enjoy digital photos (JPEG), music (MP3, WMA) and videos (AVCHD, WMV) on a Windows 7 PC, for example, by simply connecting to a home network (LAN) either wired or wirelessly. You can even install a special app on your iPhone or i.Pad and use it to send files to your Blu-ray device. You can access, browse and view compatible media stored on the other DLNA device while in another room, without having to worry about shuffling discs or running long cables.
Smartphone Remote Control
Download the Panasonic remote control apps for free and turn your iPhone or compatible Android device into a versatile remote. By installing the Panasonic remote control apps onto your smartphone, you can easily operate your Blu-ray Disc Players and Home Theatre Systems by tapping and swiping the touch display. • iPhone Remote Control App must be downloaded from the App Store (iTunes Store). • For this function, a wireless LAN environment is required. • System Requirements: iPod touch 3rd generation or later, iPhone 3GS or later, iOS version 4.2 or later.
External HDD Playback
New for 2012, the Blu-ray Disc Players and Home Theatre Systems are compatible with external hard disk drives, so you can enjoy music (FLAC, MP3), photos (JPEG, MPO), and camcorder video content (AVCHD, MP4) archived on an external HDD. Connection is via USB and most drives are compatible, even the latest NTFS (New Technology File System) format. • Playback is not possible with some external hard disk drives.
A Wi-Fi system is built right into the main unit so you can enjoy VIERA Connect, BD-Live content and downloadable firmware updates without having to connect the Blu-ray Disc Players and Home Theatre Systems with a LAN cable or use a wireless LAN adaptor. • A wireless LAN environment is required.
Ease to Use
Easy operation with a single remote control - VIERA Link lets you operate a Blu-ray Disc player or a Home Cinema System with a single VIERA TV remote control. Connection is made via HDMI cable enabling multiple Panasonic products to communicate with one another. With VIERA Link there's no more need to switch between multiple remote controls.
HDMI Input x 2
Two HDMI inputs are equipped on the main unit. This enables set top boxes, game consoles, and other digital devices to be connected via HDMI to easily configure a 5.1-channel surround system. The Standby Pass Through function also conveniently allows signals from devices connected to the home cinema system to go to the TV even when the home cinema is turned off.
Wireless Ready Rear Speaker
With a purchase of the optional SH-FX71 digital wireless transmitter, the rear speakers can operate without a wired connection from the main unit. The wireless system transmits audio signals by radio waves, so there's no need to run speaker cables across the floor to the back of the room.
