Product Description

Product Description

2.1 Home Cinema System 520W Blu-ray 3D Full HD 1080p USB HDMI - Black

Manufacturer's Description

The Clear Sound Digital Amplifier analyses the difference between the input and output audio signals, and makes the necessary adjustments to produce an output signal with the same low distortion as the input signal. This results in sound that is highly faithful to the original sound source.

You can access content from the special VIERA CAST screen. And you can check weather and stock information on other sites.

The 2D-3D Conversion makes it possible to convert images from DVDs and Blu-ray discs into 3D with natural depth perception. So you can watch your prized DVD movie collection in 3D for even greater viewing enjoyment.

The home cinema system is a great way to enjoy the music, video and photo content on your iPod or iPhone. The list of iPod/iPhone content can be displayed on the TV screen, and you can use the remote control from the home cinema system or a VIERA TV to select and play it. *To enjoy video/photo content on iPod/iPhone, please connect your home cinema system with composite video cable to your TV. The list is only for music and video. Photo playback is not supported by the VIERA remote control, to playback photos please use the iPod directly.

VIERA Link lets you operate SC-BTT262 with a single VIERA TV remote control. With VIERA Link, there's no more need to switch between multiple remote controls. Further, ARC (Audio Return Channel) feature makes it possible to receive audio signals from the TV, on top of the preexisting HDMI function of sending audio/video signals to the TV with just one cable. This simplifies connection by eliminating the audio cable connection between the TV audio output and the main unit's audio input. * ARC compatible TV is required.

Ordered this to go with my new Panasonic 50" 3D TV and was not disappointed. This is the first set of cinema sound speakers and blu ray player I have had but found it easy to set up using the HDMI cable (ARC). Others seems to have had difficulty in connecting their cable TV box, but my Virgin box connected easily and I am able to use the Home Cinema speakers when watch TV programmes. Find it great that having a Panasonic TV that the same handset also controls the blu ray player and infact as you insert your ipod or cd music disc into the player it automatically turns on your TV. When inserting a 3D DVD disc the TV automatically selects the right viewing mode. Fantastic product would recommend to anyone .... although I am contemplating getting the Panasonic 5:1 system simply because I have been so thrilled with the effects from this system its now tempting me to have one with more speakers.

I am mostly pleased with my purchase.
Here are the pros, and just a few cons.....

Pros:

Very good value for money.

iPhone docking facility (I Hardly bother with my Hi-fi anymore)

Sound quality (Clear voice and nice punchy bass)

ARC function.

When you turn on the TV, the home theatre comes to life as well.

Cons:

Audio sink issue with HD channels (can be adjusted, but is an annoyance)

Unlike DVD players, I cannot for the life of me find a button that takes you directly to the disk menu. Instead you have to scan through all of the adverts.

I finally settled on this system having tried and returned two previous offerings from rival manufacturers - Samsung and Pioneer. Interestingly the two returned units were 5.1 systems, bearing in mind that the majority of my viewing is Freeview output I don't really miss the rear surround speakers - may be different if you are a movie buff.

The system looks fairly unassuming but I am pleasantly surprised by the amount of power in the output, with plenty of weight to the sound. I have had to tweak the default settings to get the sound to my liking but this is fairly straightforward to do through the set up menus.

I would have given this system 5 stars but there are some annoying irritations, firstly there is only one HDMI output and this will only serve ARC functionality. Secondly when a device other than the TV is activated, say a set top box, the unit doesn't automatically switch the sound output - it has to be manually done on the remote control, and visa versa when going back to just the TV. Thirdly, and my biggest annoyance, every time the unit is powered up it automatically defaults to the home screen on the surround sound system and you have to use the TV remote to manually switch the output channel to the TV - very, very irritating.

Just one final thing, the amp unit is very skinny, I personally would prefer it to have a bit more bulk to give it more presence - but this may not bother most people, particularly if you are tight on head room on your allotted space.

So, not perfect, but I can forgive it's shortcomings given the price and pleasing sound performance.

This is a nice product but it seems to have one major glitch:
The Panasonic sound system works well when playing DVDs and Blu-Ray discs.
I am using it with a Philips 42 HD TV and a Sky HD+ set-top box. The TV doesn't have an optic fibre connection so I am using one HDMI cable from the Panasonic Blu-Ray box to the TV and a second HDMI cable from the Sky box to the TV. This arrangement necessitates using an audio-in connection to the Blu-Ray box to ensure sound via the Panasonic sound system. Panasonic's recommendation to achieve this is either use a stereo phono lead between the TV's audio-out and the Blu-Ray box or an optic fibre cable between the Sky box and the Blu-Ray box. I have tried both options and both work with non-HD Sky channels - but as soon as you change to an HD channel the sound dies. Strange but true ! Have tried connecting to a different Sky box and with a different TV. Same problem. I guess they want you to buy a Panasonic TV for full compatibility! All very irritating.

I purchased as a replacement for a 5.1 surround sound DVD player which was also a Panasonic. And I have to admit it was well worth it. DVD's played on this system look sharper and better colour defintion. And as for bluray dics totally mindblowing in terms of picture quality and sound quality. Plus you have a ipod dock, usb connection and sd card slot and a great radio as well.

I love this system the sound on your TV is great. I use the ARC as my TV is also Panasonic and compatible, The sound settings allow you to make this system sound 5.1 and films like Batman and Lord of the rings sound amazing. My son also plays Skyrim and Fifa on the Xbox and you can even here the rain in a match. But for me I watched Harry Potter and the low rumbling background sounds make this system believe you are at the cinema. The Ipod is also great just pop it in the front and you have a great sound system. I haven't set up the radio yet so non tuned in. The only minus for me is no eject button on remote but you do have to go to the player to put your DVD in anyway so no probs. I recommended this system to a friend in work who has a Toshiba TV and he loves it. We both have small living rooms and didn't want speaker wires trailing round. I would definitely recommend this system to anyone who wants a great cinema sound in a smaller room without the huge price tags other 5.1 and 7.1 systems command.
