After trying many music systems and home cinemas, I finally found this. Let me make a statement: "If you are looking for the best clarity of sound try this system". When it comes to the quality of sound, I'd like to hear every single piece of instrument in great details, and this system does it.
Why am I going on and on about clarity?
Most other music-systems and especially home cinemas have one biiiiiiig sub-woofer with tiny tweeters that deliver good treble sound but nothing for mid-range sound, on the other hand, Since akx52 has 3 speakers in each box, i.e.: 1 tweeter for good trouble sound, 1 mid range woofer and 1 big super-woofer for deep bass, it produces crystal-clear sound. Please note that this system doesn't deliver indistinct/unclear thundering bass (which often tires out your ears in a short while), instead this system delivers very clear/sweet/adjustable bass.
How to distinctly adjust the deeper bass from upper-range bass?
I learnt many useful sound adjustments by using it, e.g. it has only 3 band graphic equalizer: 1 for bass, 1 for mid range sound and 1 for treble adjustment, here the question is how to particularly/distinctly adjust the deeper bass from upper-range bass? answer is: increase the sound output from super-woofers (sw2 or sw3 along with auto-D.Bass) and reduce the bass (to -4) from manual-equalizer (which controls mid/upper bass range).
Other feature?
One very useful feature is "Quick Access": I like the fact that I can start listening music-tracks in less than 3 seconds, i.e. I don't need turn on or connect external display-unit (TV/monitor) or external music-source (it has built-in 2 GB memory) and it has a fast folder navigation & fast processor (even with external USB source). I also like the low power consumption (only 118 watts operational, in contrast to my previous player with separate sub-woofer that consumed massive 250 watts), this is important these days especially due to expensive electricity (and also for greener-environment).
Cons:
I don't want to sound like a seller (sorry if I got a bit too excited), here are some cons: it has short length (about 1 meter) of speaker-wires but panasonic says it's kept short in order to maintain best sound quality (to minimize the attenuation). Now here is my moan: IT'S A SHAME THAT PANASONIC DOES NOT SELL AKX72 OR AKX92 IN THE UK (this is discrimination) anyway that's my moan. Also, it has connections for only 2 (wired) speaker-boxes (no wireless connections) this means you can't connect more speakers/tweeters (you can do so in akx92) especially if you are a surround-sound-freak. Lastly it has a built in cooling fan that you may hear if you're too close to the main unit.
One last comment: I'm glad that this system has MANUAL graphic-equalizer, in most music systems and home theatres there is no manual-equalizer (only preset-eq) I hate the new trend of not giving manual-eq (manual control) to the users, perhaps manufactures think that users are stupid and that they should only be given fool-proof features (that's rubbish).
Overall if you are looking for best sound quality and a good all-in-one music system, then currently (as of Oct-2011) this is the best system (in my opinion, as I did a bit of a research before buying and trying loads of music systems & home-theatres) I preferred it over home theatres due to my music taste, if you want a system just for watching movies (not for music) you may wish to consider home-theatres.
