I've had these for nearly two years, and I've treated them awfully. They have a few dents on them after being punished and dropped, and they still work! The build quality is great and durable. I never feel I have to look after them because they're like old Nokia phones - they just feel like they are never prone to breaking. The wire is a little thin, but this has done NOTHING to break these.
The sound quality is actually pretty good. The treble is crisp and the mid-range is decent. They fit alright in the ears, they stay in but they are not the most comfortable earphones I have used. The only thing that is bad is that there is little bass. It's practically non-existent, actually. But for some reason the way the treble is reproduced it makes it sound like bass (I know, it's a bit weird, but you have to hear it for yourself). But their extremely lightweight, cheap, durable (as from my experience) and the inline volume control can be very handy (despite occasionally moving of its own accord).
I would say that they are a small step up from iPod earphones (especially the fact that they are cheaper and won't break after less than a year). Buy 'em!
