I can't comment on the iPod issue because I just wanted a good micro system that would play CDs and receive DAB radio, had reasonable wattage output and a fair degree of control over balance and tone. I have not been disappointed and am happy that I made the right choice.

Unlike some other systems, there is no discernible hum when in standby mode and CDs play very quietly with no breaks between tracks, (not that I've noticed anyway). The DAB connection is straightforward coaxial, so can easily be connected to a suitable TV aerial for good reception. Build quality is excellent and everything is reassuringly solid.

Oh, the blue-green lights are pretty cool too!

Verified Purchase
I was in a quandry as to the level at which I rated this item. On one hand, for its size, it it good sound repro, not quite up to Bose Wave level but nontheless good. On the other hand, sneaky Panasonic do not tell you, on its web site, that you need to buy the SH- PD10 docking station (Cost £60!) to achieve satisfactory ipod input - Sure you can put it in through some other docking station via the music port but with unacceptable quality in all areas!
Furthermore the SH - PD10 is a 'hard to find' item. Currently, Panasonic are out of stock and one of its employees said it could be over a month before it is available.
Because ipod input is important to me, I am regretting buying this item.
