I chose this microwave because of its large capacity (and particularly large diameter plate) and stainless steel appearance that matched other appliances in my kitchen. I had previously had large Panasonic microwaves which proved to be reliable and long lasting. Unfortunately quality appears to have slipped. This model is very noisy, not only from the fan but it also makes a drumming/booming sound. I initially took it back to the shop thinking there must be a problem with this particular one but others in the shop were just the same. It suddenly stopped generating heat after 2 years. Not finding a suitable large capacity alternative in stainless steel I bought the same model again, expecting better luck with reliability this time but after about 2 years the door release has broken. I shall now avoid Panasonic microwaves.
