The Ultimate Cooking Performance

Slimline = 20%Saving

The Panasonic NN-CT552WBPQ is made for kitchens with limited space and combines the efficiency of a microwave with the traditional browning and roasting of a conventional oven to ensure that your meal choice is endless. The convection oven offers a huge temperature range, 100-220°C, which ensures the success when cooking anything from meringues, cakes and pastries to Yorkshire Puddings and roast joints. In addition, the versatility that the Convection Oven and Grill provide, results in many greater options and methods for your preparation of food, while significantly reducing the cooking time by half to two thirds. The sleek and stylish stainless steel is not only for aesthetics but also hygiene and ease of use; it is a lot simpler to clean than other material.

Space Saving Slim Design

Space in your kitchen is always at a premium, especially when preparing ingredients. The Slimline Combination Oven with a large 27 Litre Dish Capacity takes up to 20% less space on the work surface than a comparable Combination Oven because Panasonic have moved the fan to the roof of the oven rather than at the back, reducing the depth of the oven by 20%.

Inverter Technology

Inverter Technology
Inverter Technology
Chaos Defrost
Chaos Defrost

Available on most Panasonic microwave ovens, the conventional and bulky transformer and capacitor components are replaced with a compact circuit board which provides many user-friendly benefits such as:

  • Constant Power: Most microwaves operate on constant power, when High or Full is selected. Other power levels are achieved by the microwave pulsing on and off. Panasonic Inverter technology gives constant energy on medium and low power settings – providing an alternative cooking process for your food.
  • Even Cooking: When cooking or reheating, Inverter technology ensures is heated evenly – improving texture and flavour.
  • Lighter Ovens: Microwaves using the Inverter technology can weigh approximately 3kg less than a traditional microwave.

Chaos Defrost

Chaos Defrost uses random pulses of microwave energy to reduce defrosting times. Not only does this speed up the defrosting process, but is also produces very even defrosting allowing the food to be used immediately for cooking.

Quartz Grill

The 1300W Quartz Grill with three settings heats up instantly to brown and cook all traditionally grilled foods – ideal for today’s busy lifestyles.

Auto Programs

With 13 Auto Weight programs the user has many choices. A selection of foods can be cooked automatically by selecting from the auto-weight options available, just simply enter the weight and the correct cooking mode, saving the user having to look up the correct procedures for their food. By offering such simplicity; time and energy can be saved by optimising the microwave energies.

The Ideas Kitchen

Product Description

Space in the modern kitchen is always at a premium, especially on the work surface. Microwave ovens compete with an ever increasing range of new appliances, designed to make life easier. Recognising this fact, Panasonic gave themselves to the challenge to reduce the size of one of their best selling microwaves - without sacrificing the capacity of the oven. By completely re-designing the mechanics of the microwave, Panasonic have reduced the depth of the oven by 20% (when compared to an equivalent Panasonic model). Repositioning the fan system in the roof of the oven, rather than at its rear has dramatically reduced the depth of the oven. This means that you can enjoy the advantage of microwave, grill and convection heating in more compact kitchens, which may feature narrower, 500mm work surfaces. More importantly, this has been achieved without reducing the usable cooking space inside the oven.

4.0 out of 5 stars Can't See What People Are Complaining About 2 Feb 2013
Verified Purchase
I give 4 stars because I have not had the microwave long enough to judge the reliability.
Like most people I go straight to the poor reviews first= and see what people complain about. "Light & Tinny" on said - well compare old and modern TVs, "Didn't have adjustable feet" - my worktop is level and I doubt if I will ever try heating popcorn in mine. Noisy and the fan runs on -no big deal.
I wonder if some customers expect too much?
I needed to replace my old microwave, had it for years, still works fine but the cabinet was getting a bit rusty and getting flakes of paint in my porridge.
You can buy microwaves now for little money but I thought for a few quid extra I'd buy a combi version. I'm a divorced male and need my satnav to find the kitchen. I can use a regular oven but can't cope with foods that need different temperatures and cooking times. Often I have cooked and eaten the chicken whilst the spuds are still roasting. I'm not looking to compete on Masterchef but a machine like this Panasonic seems to suit me fine. I can weigh stuff and the microwave does its own timing. I can combine micro and convection to speed up things but get an oven-like finish and the machine's display screen must know what I'm like because it tells me what buttons to push and tools to use.
Yes, possibly for the "super-cooks" it's not good enough but for me who basically uses it as a microwave with a few extra options I am well pleased. The oven and grill reach temperature much quicker and saves me having to use the big oven just to heat a small pie or make a fish-finger sandwich. So I reckon it was worth the little bit extra cost.
As the machine is 1000 watt and most cooking guides are based on 850 I had to use the internet to find a time calculator.

4.0 out of 5 stars panasonic nn-ct552wbpq combi microwave oven 21 Nov 2012

This is a compact combi microwave which does all it claims. It unfortunately does'nt have a shelf like the larger model which is handy for baking two lots at a time. The door catches on opening after a hot setting but otherwise is a very nice appliance. I would certainly recommend it as a good all roung combi.
The delivery was very quick and arrived before the recommended timescale fron Southern Electrics.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent machine 19 Sep 2012
Verified Purchase
I was unsure about which microwave to purchase as I had had mine for over 15 years and so I researched as much as possible.

I have been very happy with the machine and it does not move around on my work top. It is a lot shallower than my previous one which is a great improvement.

I have used the microwave daily and on occasions I have used the jacket potato button but I have as yet not used any of the other functions.

There is a clock which I was very happy about as I had read somewhere that there was only a minute minder. The numerals are smaller and a little harder to read than my previous one but at least it does have a clock.

Microwaves are not as sturdily built as they used to be but all in all I am very pleased with this machine and would highly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT 5 Sep 2012
Verified Purchase
My old faithful BEJAM Microwave finally gave up after almost 30 years ! I researched the options and after reading reviews decided upon the Panasonic (Nn-CT552wbpq) Combination Microwave Oven. I chose white rather than stainless steel which is easier to keep clean. So far I have been more than happy with my purchase, it's easy to use and even has settings for specific dishes. It's certainly much quicker than my 'old faithful' .
I was very impressed with the delivery which was very prompt and efficient at no extra charge.

1.0 out of 5 stars Dreadul, Bordering on Dangerous! 27 Oct 2012
By Rbz5416
Firstly let's dispel the myth (lie?) that this is a combination oven. It does NOT have a heating element for convection cooking & instead uses the grill to heat the oven. So what would you expect to happen if trying to bake under a grill, a burnt top with an uncooked underneath? Correct - & that exactly what you get here. So if you're looking for an small extension to your main oven then look elsewhere.

It's noisy & rather poorly built. The LCD display would be fine at eye level but on a counter, you get an overall green glow with all of the display faintly lit due to it's poor angle of view.

I tried a jacket potato just using convection & the skin didn't crisp as in a conventional oven. I've also tried a Yorkshire pudding & that failed to rise, although gave the impression it has by forming a crust with a huge air pocket underneath. So as above, forget baking in it.

I've also tried a jacket potato using the dedicated programme of mixed cooking & it was no different to one microwaved only.

But the real concern is that today, it near burst into flames! Tried heating some popcorn & smoke poured out after 90 seconds. The trim holding the door glass in place has melted onto the cavity. Spoke to a Panasonic service agent who said this is known issue when heating "low moisture" items & so not covered by warranty. Thee manual says that microwaving low moisture foods is not recommended but certainly doesn't say you shouldn't do it for fear of setting fire to the kitchen. So many of the things I've done with previous microwaves can't be done in this Panasonic. No heating wheat bags. No warming of the kid's microwavable "hot water bottle" toys. No warming of plates & definitely no popcorn!
