The DMC-GF2 is the world's smallest* and lightest* digital interchangeable lens camera with built-in flash, featuring a touch-screen operation. While shooting, you can operate the auto focus and shutter release at the same time with just a touch. While playing back, you can quickly select a picture to view by ‘scrolling’ through images. In the iA (Intelligent Auto) Mode, 7 detection functions work automatically and simultaneously to optimize your settings, making it easier than ever to take beautiful images every time.
*For an interchangeable lens system camera with a built-in flash as of 4th November 2010.
The Lumix GF2's 12.1 MP Live MOS Sensor
The 4/3-type 12.1-megapixel Live MOS sensor offers the best of both worlds – the superior image quality of a CCD sensor, and the lower power consumption of a CMOS sensor. The Venus Engine FHD features advanced signal processing capabilities in both photo and movie recording. With the advanced noise reduction system, you can capture beautiful images even when shooting at high ISO sensitivity levels. The Intelligent Resolution technology is another feature of the Venus Engine FHD. The DMC-GF2 also features a fast and accurate contrast AF system.
HD Movies with Ease Thanks to AVCHD Lite
The DMC-GF2 can record full-HD 1920 x 1080 movies in AVCHD format with the high sound quality of Dolby® Digital Stereo Creator. A dedicated button on the top panel lets you instantly start recording movies without having to make any extra settings. The popular iA Mode is available in motion image recording. Touch AF is also available in movie recording and lets you enjoy total focusing control. The DMC-GF2 can save a frame of movie as photo during playback. With the Video Divide function, you can divide a single video into two parts using only the camera.
The DMC-GF2 features the My Color Mode with a total of 8 preset modes, including the Cinema Mode which gives cinema-like gradation. In iA Mode and the My Color Mode, the range of defocus can be adjusted by just moving the slider with your finger. The DMC-GF2 provides a total of 17 Scene Modes, and many of these can be used when shooting movies too. With the Full-time Live View function, you can see how settings will affect the images before you shoot, which makes it easier to capture the exact mood or atmosphere desired.
VIERA Link Networking
Both photos and movies on SD Memory Cards are easy to view on a Panasonic VIERA TV with dynamic HD resolution. You simply insert the card into the VIERA Image Viewer on a VIERA TV or Blu-ray Disc Player to play the content. Alternatively, an optional HDMI mini cable can be used to output photos and movies recorded with the DMC-GF2 directly to the TV for easy VIERA Link operation. Pictures taken with the interchangeable 3D lens LUMIX G 12.5mm / F12 can be viewed in 3D via the 3D Image Viewer offering you a whole new exciting experience (compatible 3D TV required).
DMC-GF2 is available in three kit combinations : DMC-GF2CEB (DMC-GF2 camera body + 14mm lens), DMC-GF2KEB (DMC-GF2 camera body + 14-42mm lens) and DMC-GF2WEB (DMC-GF2 camera body + 14mm & 14-42mm lenses)
