No viewfinder but I found that even in bright Greek sunlight the screen was easily visible.

The macro on this camera works down to 5cm - 1cm would be a bit much for any camera, even an SLR unless you have a specialist lens.

I bought this camera some months ago. I have never used it underwater as I bought it for our water park holiday in July but on land,it produces decent images, slightly grainy which can be quite good on the skin. The videos are amazing. Sorry I am still to test it's capabilities under water.

It comes with its own battery pack and charger. You wouldn't be able to use any type of battery other than its own.

Had no problems at all with the battery or the camera - sounds like you have a dud one and need to go back to the supplier.

Hi I've never used it on continuous or burst. I just use it in the pool or for snorkeling and it's been pretty good. Obviously the colours aren't as vibrant when taking pictures of fish if the sun isn't very bright or you go to any depth past 5 feet or so.

25per second continuos shooting yes it has a burst and yes it takes tripod stand - TIP - don't grab the camera for a shoot that grabs your eye with tripod attached like we all are tempted to do because you will have a tripod but shattered camera in half got it
