Amazon Verified Purchase
This is the genuine article....Heck of alot cheaper than buying from the manufacturer...Used it on a recent video shoot & exactly the same as the battery supplied with the camcorder....Notice that the price has come down a bit since I purchased it...Never mind, still saved quite a bit of dosh.

It works very well, and it gives the re-assurance of being a Panasonic original. I gave it three stars, however, because it is really far too expensive.
Buying a non-original replacement battery for the Panasonic camcorder range is fraught with problems, as Panasonic seems to have introduced some form of technology into the batteries/camcorder which makes it difficult for others to do so. This has the effect of keeping prices high, and, in effect, denying consumers much in the way of effective choice. Most Panasonic replacement batteries seem to work on the basis of needing the original battery piggy-backed to the non-oem version, or have a trailing lead which feeds into the socket where you'd normally plug in the mains adaptor. Neither solution is very good - two batteries on at the same time add bulk, and a trailing lead gets in the way of normal operation. This original battery is the perfect solution, but, as I've said, it's far too expensive - it costs about 20% of the original price of the camcorder!

I got this as an additional battery for my Panasonic HDC SD-60. This battery was exactly like the original and it has been very handy having it during our recent holiday. I've had it for little over 1 month now and found no apparent issues with it and hence would recommend it highly.

Great battery
don't think my dad has used it much, but it adds that extra time needed when you're a bit record happy for a less price then the official one.
