Matt silver front and matt black rear are pleasing plus the base is smaller (note it wall mounts ONLY with an optional bracket) and neater with message playback on the base and on the handset (any handset). bought this after trawling thru' the web and have used it for the past week...so far so good.clear display, colour screen is a plus but on hindsight we don't really need it.the handset is a tad chunky but no more than our previous philips and sits sturdily in the cradle.ringtones are "normal",200 name phonebook is useful altho' it seems we will need to make entries in each handset which is a waste of time(would've been much better if they could duplicate the entries automatically).internal paging and backlight have proved useful.

The phone itself is mostly excellent.
Lots of memory for a large address book (200 numbers), clear display, easy to use keypad and menu system, and great voice quality whether in normal use or with the speaker phone.

Great to use,really.

A possible fly in the ointment is one to which Panasonic customer services themselves admitted. In certain telephone exchanges with certain phone providers the phone will display a caller's number but will not display their name if it is in the address book. However the correct name is displayed when you look back at the history of who called you. Curious!

Many people now have bundled ADSL and telephony offers so this might be concern. It was for me, so I have deducted 1 star from an otherwise flawless performance. I have arranged to send it back and get the KX-TG8223 which Panasonic claim does not suffer from this problem.
