It does what it says on the box.
I can't find any quality issues with it, so far.
Super quality sound, can be heard clearly anywhere in the house on a suitable volume without any distortion at all.
I can't heard any CD 'grating' noise, even on lowest volume and close up.
My only issue is that the speaker leads are quite short and an internet search does not quickly bring up where you can get the specialisted extention leads.

This is a great piece of kit. I wanted an easy way to turn my old vinyl records into mp3s and this system, with the addition of a record deck of course, allows me to do just that. It contains 2 GB of built-in memory, or you can plug a memory stick or mp3 player straight into the front USB port. You just set whether you want to record to the internal memory or the USB device, put on an LP, push a button and the system converts and saves your rare vinyl sounds as mp3s. Brilliant!
And what a whomping sound you get from these kickin' 600 watt speakers. An mp3 player plugged into the front port gives great stereo, crisp upper and an absolutely gorgeous bass response. My favourite music has never sounded better, whether its Thomas Tallis or The Smiths. For those of an aesthetic bent, the speakers also look really good.
The fm radio sound is also very, very clear, particularly for speech, which is great for me as a Radio 4 listener.
All in all, I'm delighted with this sound system. The only downside was finding the same system £50 cheaper on another website after I'd unpacked mine and set it up. Doh! It pays to shop around. Having said that, this seller got the product to me very quickly and in perfect condition, and still at a pretty good price, so I'm not exactly crying into my soup. Still, £50 quid's £50 quid ...

Once wired up this system gives excellent sound on pop and rock music. Its tuner circuit is pretty sensitive and does not need anything other than a simple indoor antenna. On these grounds I recommend it wholeheartedly. I noted before buying that others had complained about short speaker leads. I did not react to this since the position of the speakers on my installation has to be miles away from the main unit and I had expected to have to run new leads anyway. What I had not appreciated was that each speaker requires four wires - the bass boost is on a separate circuit. I overcame this by connecting each speaker via a couple of terminal boxes that allowed me to run into a new four wire cable. It was a bit of extra work but the end result in sound made it well worthwhile. For anyone who does not expect to have to do this, they will find that the wires as supplied are ridiculously short and will only allow the speakers to be positioned immediately adjacent to the main box.
