If you're looking for a technical review of this product, then this is not the post for you. From a user's and 'plain English' perspective I can tell you what I like best about it;
1) The image quality in full HD is superb and I am especially pleased with the transition from under water to above water. There is no curtain of water running down the lens as I expected, which might otherwise ruin the image. In fact the quality reminds me of one of those wildlife programs you see on TV where they follow divers in and out of the sea.
2) Ergonomically, the unit is excellent to hold and fits in the palm of your hand. It's a natural fit as well, meaning that you do not cramp over time. For distance recording, you learn not to depend on the screen to view the subject; just point and record. For close-ups, the screen is essential.
3) The recorded sound quality is excellent during playback. I've not recorded in high winds yet, so have no idea how it will fare. Assume that there will be interference.
4) There was a slight weeping of water when taken to 1m, but this was easily dried post recording and did not damage the unit. The waterproofing is a silicone rubber pad underneath each entry point lid, with a raised ring which acts as a seal. I'm unsure whether the weep was a result of me opening these lids and transferring droplets of water or whether they actually breached the seal. However, no damage done.
5) The menu options are really easy to use. If you own a mobile telephone or an automatic camera, then you should get the hang of it in no time.

Overall very happy with this camcorder. As a family, we like spending time at theme parks with the kids and I thought that this would be ideal. I particularly liked the idea of its size (similar to a large mobile phone) which can fit in a trouser pocket easily and the fact that it is waterproof - great for the water parks and water rides.
Performance is impressive. Quality of the recorded image is excellent and the software supplied makes it easy to download the recorded files to my PC. Check that your PC meets the minimum requirements however especially if you intend to record and edit in full HD. Note however that it does not allow you to transfer the files to Blu-Ray disc. The file conversion for HD footage is AVCHD only. The level of sound is also very good with the built in microphone. It picked up much more detail than I expected it to.
Be prepared to buy a large memory card. Most people will want to capture full HD footage. The maximum size card that it will currently accept is an SDXC 64GB. This will allow you to record up to about 7 hours in full HD (a lot more if you record at a lower resolution). The cheapest I have seen that sort of card currently selling for is about £75.
Quite easy to use although you need a fairly steady hand. It has an automatic image stabiliser but I still noticed a bit of camera shake. I guess that the position of your hand using a 'pistol grip' just takes a bit of getted used to rather than the position of using a traditional camcorder. Controls are easy to get to grips with and the various settings are quick to learn and navigate. One minor issue that I have is that the zoom only works at one speed which is fairly fast.... Delivered on time this camera is easy to use with excellent features. I have only two reservations/niggles, one is that zoom speed is not adjustable and the other is the button for stills is awkward to operate.

I wanted a camera for taking videos that would later be uploaded to YouTube. It needed to be good outdoors in all weathers, indoors and low light. I also wanted a camera with good sound quality and clear recording of someone talking at distance of up to 12ft away. I did a lot of research and found someone on YouTube who had one of these. I asked him about the sound quality and he kindly sent me links to videos he had made using this camera, in different settings - one was at a conference in a dimly lit room, where he recorded someone talking on the stage. The quality was great and on the strength of those videos I bought this camera. I have not been disappointed. The quality of the image is sharp and the sound quality is certainly good enough for my purposes. It can be attached to a tripod (this was important to me and I couldn't find information anywhere that this was possible). I bought the "GEM Anti-Shock Case for Panasonic SDR-H80, SDR-H81, SDR-H90, SD HDD Camcorder" for it, which it fits beautifully (I have also done a review on that). I also bought a 64GB memory card, spare batteries and battery charger which includes a car socket (all from Amazon). Now I can record for ages without worrying about battery life or memory usage.

I have used this camera whilst wet canyoning. It has handled extremes of temperatures and jumping from as high as 18 meters into water (handled the jump better than I did). It has been just fine, doing what was asked of it. I smeared a tiny quantity of non-setting silicon (purchased from a dive shop) onto the seals for added security. I also use a Lowepro pouch for added protection against knocks and to hang it from my belt - I had to cut the padded'tongue' out of the pouch (a 20 second job) and it fits snugly now.
This is not a premium priced product - rather one that serves a particular niche market - obviously it has limitations if the user is a professional. I just wish to record fun events and commit them to another storage medium for future reference. When connected to our 46" hi-def Sony the picture quality is acceptable. I don't have any issues about the camera when considering the cost-vs-benefits.
