panasonic. 10 Dec 2010
I purchased the Panasonic DMRXS380EBK 250 GB HDD DVD.from Amazon. Before purchasing I read a couple of bad reviews,2 to be precise. But I read some really good ones so I went with the good ones.I am glad I did.I matched the recorder up with my Panasonic 46 inch Freesat/Freeview.H.D.T.V.There is a bit of time lapse when switching between functions, but the picture recorded more than makes up for this small criticism, its easy to set up it almost sets it self.Very pleased with second Panasonic product.Enough said.

dvd recorder 20 Dec 2010

A well built product with an excellent HD picture. Tuning was a doddle the machine does it all for you. The only problem I have with it is when I want to record in HD and then copy to a disc so I can watch the programme on an other dvd player I have to copy in real time. So if I record a film for 2 hours I have to then copy for 2 hours before I can take the disc out and play on the other recorder. Most times I record and watch from the same machine which is recorded on the HDD hard drive so it's not a great problem. Altogether I am really pleased with my purchase.

appalling 13 Nov 2010
By Mike
I had one of these for 2 days, which was long enough to discover that :

- The menu is painfully slow - it is often unclear if the last key stroke on the remote has even been registered. Changing channels is torture.
- Compared to a Humax Foxsat HDR, the 'high definition' is only about semi-high.
- In 'fastest dubbing' mode it took 83 minutes to dub a 53-minute recording : you couldn't make this up.
- When dubbing from HDD to DVD you can only watch the programme being dubbed! You can't even watch TV, despite twin Freesat feeds.
- In oder to play back something you've recorded from TV, you have to enter a PIN code. No, really ...

This machine is almost indescribably bad.
