Manufacturer's Description

NEW Super- Multi Format DVD Recorder;Panasonic is proud to launch the DMRES15, the first in its 2006 portfolio of DIGA DVD Recorders. This recorder is compatible with all DVD disks, and combined with superlative ease of use and high picture quality, it is sure to be compatible with you...

Panasonic DVD Recorders have become synonymous with ease of use and flexible features. The DVD RAM recording system allows all models in the range to boast features such as Timeslip, that allow you to watch a recording from the beginning whilst continuing to record, pause TV if you wish to take a break from viewing, and chase playback of recorded material. This year's introduction of Super Multi Format compatibility means that all formats of DVD can be recorded onto or played back - total peace of mind and confusion free entertainment.

Super Multi Format Flexibility; The DMRES15 offers the ease and convenience of Super Multi-Format Recording and Playback, which lets users play all of their DVDs, regardless of the recording format.

Super Easy Operation; This recorder is so simple to use! The DMRES15 features a new task-oriented Graphic User Interface (GUI) An Iconic menu for Playback, Schedule, Delete, Copy, and Other Functions, making it easy to select and complete the most popular functions with the minimum of button presses and totally intuitive to use even for the least technical user.

Instant Power to Get Recording!;The DMRES15 adds another technology to the armoury of ease-of-use functions with Quick Start and Record. Many DVD recorders take 20 or more valuable seconds to power-up and start recording, prone to missing the beginning of a programme being recorded on the spur of the moment.

Best Picture Quality; The DMRES15 includes Progressive scan to enable the best resolution on LCD or plasma panels. This high-precision progressive video processor handles 30-frame progressive scan images on NTSC disks. This lets you enjoy high resolution progressive playback of original DVD images.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good performance for the money., 3 May 2007
This review is from: Panasonic DMR-ES15EB-S Multi-Format DVD Recorder (Electronics)
Was a little but nervous before buying as the technical details were a little bit sparse and the reviews mixed.
I am, however, very pleased with it. It does have scart ports (although no cable is supplied) and it does record digital (once you change the setup, the default is analogue hence the complaints from others).
It does record to all formats (including dual layer) which is a big plus and the interface is relatively easy to use. The only downside is that the appearance is a bit dated but overall fantastic value for money!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Very pleased with purchase, 26 Mar 2007
By newsgirl (Reading, England) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Panasonic DMR-ES15EB-S Multi-Format DVD Recorder (Electronics)
We got this particular DVD recorder because digital recorders won't work properly at our new place (the way the satellite is already wired in the building doesn't allow for sky plus boxes to pause or record TV properly). We both were used to and loved the function of pausing live tv, and this recorder with it's chasing playback brings us as close as we can get. It lets you watch a show while you record it, so you basically can pause "live" tv (it's actually about a second later than live) and you can rewind if you missed something. Note that the chasing playback only works if you use DVD RAM disks, which are more expensive, but are long-lasting. We bought a pack of five and are still just recording over the first one over and over.

This recorder was not difficult to set up and having set it up it is a pleasure to use. With easy on screen directions, recording is quick and clear. I have been able to view photo's from my computer, again with no complications just following the hand book and on screen directions.
As yet no down side which makes it very good value for money. I hope this helps in your search for an easy non complicated, good value for money DVD recorder.
