5.0 out of 5 stars Super practical case 4 Aug 2010
Got this is in the post and my first thought was how small and neat it was. It is very expensive for a camera case but worth every penny. My camera is safe from knocks and bumps when travelling with it and not using it and when out all day photographing, I removed the outer case and left it in the base all day where you can easily access the whole screen and all buttons. The only downside is that to attach a tripod you have to remove the base case - there should be a hole at the bottom so that it is not necessary to remove. Apart from that it's great! As for the camera itself - it is absolutely brilliant, I cannot recommend it enough!

5.0 out of 5 stars Convenient carry case 1 Jan 2010

I have fronts for both the 14-45 lens and the 20mm pancake.

These cases are really of the highest quality certainly the equal of my Leica Cases.Although some people appear to think that the design is dated , I'm still a fan of the small ever-ready type case as ideal for holidays - spare memory and a battery can easily be carried in a pocket.
The electronic viewfinder has a matching case and fits on to the strap.

Small and effective protection for the camera.A quality product.

As with other reviewers, I took the plunge, paid up and am completely satisfied with the product. The case (plus lens protective filters and screen protector) allows me to sling this fantastic camera over my shoulder somewhat retro style and go out and about taking pictures without worrying about accidental knocks and scratches. The shoulder strap that came with the camera is a bit minimalist - but I think complements the case. I bought the larger size, so it can also be used for the pancake lens. The larger standard lens kit fits very snugly (just) with reversed hood and protective filter attached.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well worth the money 6 May 2010
By Bahn
Grained quality leather, relative thin but effective padding and a very well made tough but smooth inner liner promise good protection for camera and lens.

Fits camera with lens and hood attached (in transport position) like a glove and leaves only few and little open doors for dirt though this is a two piece designed construction.

Very well thought and designed functionality and handling, classic concept of a protective camera shell leaving enough space for reaching all available buttons comfortably when opened and flipped down.

The bottom half of the set already provides good protection for the body and makes the camera lay in my hands a little more beefy.

No extra pockets included but akkus and cards are fortunately well pocketable.

This is the classic take-it-anywhere-anytime-case that many cameras lack of today and it is great pleasure and fun working with this small and very practical case rather than carrying around big, bulky and no-place-to-leave-when-taking-photos-foam-and-Nylon-lumps often supplied.

Bottom line : For sure not the cheapest case but well worth every Cent/Penny.

My thanks go to amazon.co.uk for the great service and the rather fast and reliable processing and shipping.

4.0 out of 5 stars If I owned a GF1 it'd be perfect..... 17 Aug 2011
....but contrary to the previous review, it's a little too large for my GF2 so the base doesn't stay in situ, especially as there isn't a tripod screw fixing.

Great quality and protects the GF2 nicely including a UV filter and reversed lens hood - just bear in mind that it's not really an "ever ready" case as you really need to remove the case to use the camera.

4.0 out of 5 stars Stylish and Functional 19 July 2011

I brought the version that goes with the 20mm lens initially and was very pleased with the quality but, being a snug fit, when I purchased the additional lens it didn't fit. So I got this one which is bulkier (of course) but just as good in terms of quality. It is worth noting that the design of this version does not have the tripod bush screw in to hold the camera in place but some pop stud straps that go over the neck strap. So if you don't use a neck strap there is nothing to hold the camera in and of course; if you want to use a tripod you have to remove the case. I prefer the arrangement on the other version which is why i give this 4 stars instead of 5.

Price is also a consideration but, given the cost of the equipment it is protecting, it is a great investment and I am sure it will give years of service.
