Product Description

Manufacturer's Description

37 Inch Full HD 1080p LCD, V-Real 2 Pro LCD Technology For Ultimate High Definition Picture Quality

High Definition (HD)
High Definition (HD) is the biggest thing to happen to TV since the world first saw colour broadcasts in the early 1950s. It is designed to deliver breathtakingly life-like pictures which will truly deliver that sense of 'being there.'

HD TV signals carry far more picture information than conventional broadcasts. An HD TV picture is made up of 1080 horizontal lines compared to conventional PAL pictures that are made up of around 625 horizontal lines, this means greatly enhanced detail and very high resolution.

V-REAL II AND V-REAL PRO II TECHNOLOGY
Panasonic's V-real collection of leading-edge imaging technologies has evolved into the V-real II and V-real Pro II systems. These new technologies combine expertise gained in developing the high-definition cameras used to broadcast the Olympics Games with advanced authoring technologies developed at the Panasonic Hollywood Laboratory (PHL). Every system, device and component in VIERA reflects Panasonic's relentless pursuit of superior image quality from every angle. The result is video reproduction that reaches the level of art.

VIERA V-REAL II/V-REAL PRO II DRIVER
The high-performance driver optimizes the performance of the display panel. This helps VIERA render images that have smooth, crystal-clear motion and delicate colours with rich gradation.

    Brilliant! 19 Dec 2007
Having done lots of research we narrowed our choice of 37" TVs to the Sony and Panasonic. We chose the Panasonic because the non-HD picture was better (nothing to choose when it came to HD). Set up was a doddle and took no more than 10 minutes even given that our (very old) sky box refused to work initially. We find we are watching the Freeview channels without using sky. The picture is brilliant and there is no blurring with fast moving sports pictures (non-HD). Just the right size for our viewing distances of 2 - 3 metres without overwhelming the room. Looks very stylish too. Bought locally (sorry Amazon!) simply because of the 5 year free warranty on parts and labour and same day (after 2 hours) delivery. Look no further for a 37" TV!

    Panasonic TX37LZD70 8 Jan 2008
Like the other two reviewers we spent an age researching which LCD TV to buy and finally settled on this model - we are not disappointed in any way. It looks great, pictures are way better then anything else I tested before buying - SD broadcasts are amazing and gaming via an Xbox 360 looks fantastic. Standard DVD viewing is also excellent - have'nt tried full HD yet. It is easy to get bogged down with all the technical jargon on the internet and even specialist magazines, so felt the need yo write a few words on this TV for anyone else looking for the bottom line - BUY ONE NOW, YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!

After many months buying the mags, checking the various stores, I decided on a Panasonic. I set my sights on the 32" XLD700 which is everybodys top lcd. Then I foolishly decided I wanted something bigger( kids !!)Slightly spur of the moment decision, it was available locally with 3 year warranty, only £40 more expensive than here and I could it get into my car right there and then.
Dead easy to set up, basically switch on ,a few on screen instructions that didnt require rocket science. Standard Digital tv pic is great, would give just short of 5 stars,as long as you sit the 2 - 3 metres from the set. I am very disappointed in standard DVD pic, can get a bit hazy round margins,I noticed this in the shop and the cheaper Toshiba beside it was better, I spoke to them and they showed me the multisocket scart that was supplying the same pic to about 8 sets and they blamed that - they did say I could return the set (try doing that !!)
My DVD player is an early JVC , so possibly that is the problem. Its too early to decide on HDDVD/BlueRay.
Ironically I was in a Comet a few days ago and they had set up side by side the Panasonic 32" XLD700, This 37" and the 37" plasma all playing the same Hi Def picture. There was not a lot in it , but this set came out bottom. The 32" was impressively sharper - they must have known I was coming !!!!!
I like to watch films when the kids are in bed,so perhaps a new DVD player will soothe my hyper critical eyes. The kids of course love it.
