My husband and I used this book in March 2010 and completed about 4 of the walks of differing lengths and difficulties. We only strayed once from the route. We are going back to La Palma this year and will do more of the walks. If you are going to La Palma and need a guide you won't go far wrong with this one, There is also a matching map to go with it.

We found this extremely comprehensive and up to date but suggest that it be read with 'Walk! La Palma by the same author.Which too can be bought through Amazon.

great map just have to walk it all in January 2011,

Promised myself a treat for new year hiking the world's steepest island so bought the latest map. And then I bought the book that goes with it.
I'm normally on mainland Spain but this looks the place for walking adventures. As well as the highlighted routes from the new Walk La Palma book it also has all the GR and PR walking routes (Highlighted in purple - why purple?) and looking about for info it seems most maps of the island still have the old road numbers while this looks bang up to date. So its planning and dreaming until we leave on 8 Jan for two weeks; mountainous, must try that Ruta Volcanos down the spine to the south. The book talks about storm damage early in 2010 but I guess (hoping) that will all be cleared up a year later. Roll on the new year.
