Bare in mind I've installed this card in the following archaic system: Dell 8400 P4, 3gb Ram, Windows XP Pro, bought in 2003. Firstly the install is the slowest of any card I've had, probably due to the machine. Secondly the install booklet has a picture of a different card which needs power leads to the motherboard, this card does not.
That said the backward compatibility is great, my board is PCI-E 1, this being PCI-E 2 has no problems, although I'm sure I'm not getting the best out of it.
FS2004 runs almost to max graphics. While it will play MM1 with no problems MM2 even with the patch will not launch. 18 Wheels of Steel Long Haul and Wheels of Steel Pedal To the Metal also play but you have to play about with the config settings to get the best out of it. The now aging Hauppauge TV card also has no problems. TOCA 3 has probably benefitted the most. So if you still run these old applications and need a replacement this will do the job.
It comes with the NVIDIA control panel, giving easy access to settings. There is also a nice piece of software called 'V Tune', allowing Fan Speed, and Performance to be set to your spec.
I will update again after a few months of use.
