1.0 out of 5 stars Good Idea - Poorly executed 12 Jan 2010
Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
The single star is not worthy for this item, heres why.

The idea of 3 in 1 was good, but have to agree with all the other reviews of 1 or 2 stars. The build quality is of such a level not seen since the Austin Allegro.

1. The remote control rubber keys are worse than those found on the Spectrum 48k, if anyone can remember that far back. The central 'Enter' button and its surrounding buttons are so close together, you cant help but press 2 or more at the same time. Also there is a rather bright & annoying blue led on all the time it is in use, why? Maybe when I've thrown the remote accross the lounge in frustration, i will be able to find it again?

2. The keyboard is only suitable for my 6 yr old sons little fingers to operate - also a number of the keys failed to operate.

3. Forget the idea of using this as a gamepad, ever! The analogue sticks are virtually buried in the base and again the buttons too small to operate.

Also the unit i received did not have the chrome border as shown in the picture, not that this was the clincher for sending this immediatly back for a refund, which im sure you will do also, should you momentarily loose control of your sense's and order this item.

Other uses for this remote:
1. Ice scrapper.
2. toy for your dog - Im sure they'ed love something new.
3. A wedge for that wobbly table leg.

I can only conclude that the people who have given this item 5 stars are either: employees / share holders of 'Pair & Go' or they are the type that consider sandals as 'cool' footwear. Bonkers!

5.0 out of 5 stars 3in1 Real Value for Money 9 Jan 2010
Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
The problem with combined function products is that there is always a compromise somewhere along the way because each function on a combo product is usually never as good the functions on the individual product. This maxim also applies to this product because this is not really a PS3 joypad controller - it can't be really be since it is shaped like a normal remote control but then again I don't think anyone would really expect it to have the same feel and functionality as a specifically designed PS3 joypad controller, which would be used for hours of gaming. As a controller that can be used with the keypad for online chatting then it is perfectly fine and does the job well. You can move your character around easily using the toggles and the controls are responsive enough for most games but it is not a substitute for a proper PS3 controller and I don't think it is meant to be.

The remote control section slides out to reveal the controller and keypad. The sliding mechanism is smooth and robust, if a little quick. The keypad itself is small, as are the keys, and again is responsive enough to work for its purpose. It pairs up quickly with the USB dongle, the wireless connection is good and the units charges quickly from a USB port. It took about 4 hours for its initial charge from new.

The blu ray remote section works well and does the same things as a specifically designed blu ray remote. The buttons are not all the same size, with the more important ones being bigger and I assume that this is a deliberate design feature, which makes sense because it makes the remote much easier to use if you can quickly find the right button.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good little unit 6 Jan 2010
By Dee A
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
I was looking for a blu ray remote for our PS3 because I simply hated using the gamepad controller as a remote control and I bought this one because I loved the idea of 3 products in. Having researched into the the costs of a seperate controller, remote and wireless keypad, I realised that I would not have much change left from about £60-65 and so at about £20 this product represented great value for money, especially as this was not much more than the price of a decent PS3 blu ray remote. We love watching movies in our house and so, having used it continuously for the last 2 weeks and having given it a thorough "workout" with my teenage kids, I thought I would take a few minutes to write down my review.

Remote control - Simple to use, which is great for me, and it does the job. Unusually, the stop, pause and play buttons are larger than the others on the remote and this is great because when fast forwarding or rewinding a section of a movie, it is easy to find the play button to resume playing. Too often on our normal DVD remote, I have frustratingly kept pressing the wrong button when looking for play or stop but the larger buttons on this remote has made life easier for someone like me. The other remote functions work perfectly well and it is a good remote control. On the odd occasion when the wireless connection disconnected, all I had to do was take out and re-insert the USB dongle into the PS3 in order to re-establish the connection.

Keypad - The top panel slides forward to reveal a wireless keypad, which I would never really use but my 13 and 16 year old boys have been using it to chat on some Playstation virtual world and they said that, after taking a little getting used to the keypad layout, it was simple and easy to use.
