5.0 out of 5 stars Vintage 1979 Colyer, 7 Aug 2007

This review is from: Painting the Clouds With Sunshine (Audio CD)
Anyone used to hearing Colyer's studio recordings will know that they tended to follow the pattern of earlier 78 records, that is, performances of around 3 minutes. Whereas hearing him live, the same number could last for up to 10 minutes, if not more.

So whilst at first glance this CD may seem short measure with only six tracks, the fact that they were recorded live in concert at Eaglesfield School, Blackheath (on 6th October 1979) means that the playing time runs to just under an hour. And although it's something of a scratch band, the playing is everything you'd hope for, and them some, thanks not least to the presence of Colin Bowden on drums.
