Northlight have published some wonderful inspiring books on wildlife art, and I had hoped this book would be as good. It is a good book if you are a beginner, or if you don't own any of the myriad of other 'how to' titles, but if you do, you will sadly see a lot of repetition and not much new work. I have Northlight books several years old that contain the same paintings, so I was disappointed with this offering. It would be lovely to see some of these talented artists move away from this formula and start to give a bit more insight into their thoughts and working process which goes beyond this very basic predictable formula.

I wish I had read more about this publication. Its a bit short on information and the actual concept of Wildlife Painting.

My advise is to take a good look inside before you make your mind up to purchase.

North Light Books are exceptional when it comes to explaining how to paint and draw and this book is no exception. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in drawing and painting wildlife. It has very clear steps to follow to achieve perfection in your chosen medium.
