Book Description

3 Jan 2012
Still life painting is an exciting genre, which allows the artist to explore colour, shape and form using as many or as few objects as they like. A still life can be quiet, tranquil and contemplative in mood, or be a celebration of pure colour and expression.

About the Author

Adele Wagstaff is a practising artist who divides her time between the studio and teaching painting courses. 5.0 out of 5 stars Super! 4 Feb 2014
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I am an artist who has been drawing and painting for the past 55 years and can thoroughly recommend this book to artist of any ability.
It's one of those books which is a delight to read and combines practical advice and instruction with an in depth insight into a sound grasp of painting in general and still life in particular.
You don't come across books of this standard very often but when you do it really is worth buying a copy and this one is by my side as I write.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely approach to Still Life 28 May 2014
By Susan Gorrie - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I liked this book for a couple of reasons. Ms. Wagstaf talks about some of the artists who have inspired her and introduced me to artists I wasn't familiar with. I love her quiet, simple art made up of things important to her. Her work seemed beautiful and unique to me.
