Product Description

Product Description

In this book, John Agnew shares his secrets for creating subtle, intimate natural scenes, where tiny mammals hide and lizards creep along quietly. The book is filled with mini-demonstrations showing readers exactly how to capture this beauty in their own work, regardless of medium, through control of light, color, textures, point of view and design. They'll also find guidelines for rendering leaves, mud, snow, fur, feathers, and more, plus one full demonstration that puts animals and an environment together in a single painting.

About the Author

A beautiful book. The author's enthusiasm for the subject matter radiates from every stunning illustration, but this is not just a coffee table book. Practical sections take you step by step through capturing the natural world in paint, with extremely useful tips on creating effects of sand, rock, bark, grass and various animal skins. Any budding artist would be delighted with this.

An amazing book 29 April 2009
Format:Paperback
I have always looked at this type of art and wondered how it was done, well now I know, this is a great book with step by step guides as to how to go about producing this type of illustration.
I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in this type of art but you do need to know what you are doing, it is not a guide for beginners, however , that said it is a wonderful book full of well produced illustrations and is an inspiration to us all. I greatly enjoyed reading the book and painting some of the illustrations for myself.
