Perhaps foolishly, I bought this book on the strength of the cover. What I was expecting was a variety of imaginative, sexy (but not pornographic) poses in a variety of backgrounds, under different lighting conditions, with each model showing something of their personality.
What the book is, in fact, is a series of very similar poses (reclining nude), on practically identical backgrounds, with identical (presumably large overhead softbox) lighting, each having an identical image treatment applied (of the painterly high-NR variety, which anyone with a copy of Lightroom 3 can readily replicate). With the exception of one model, they even have identical skin tone and colour. Facial expressions are universally uninteresting, and you get the impression that he found a digital post-processing technique he liked, and decided to pad it out to make a book to sell by almost copy & pasting it across a dozen models.
I have to say that this was a big disappointment to me. He might as well have kept the same photo on the front cover and just provided a dozen stickers printed with interchangeable models' heads. The image on the cover is the best contained in the book.
On the positive side, the images are printed with a rich glossy finish on thick, very high quality paper. The book has a durable, stitched hardback binding, without dust sheet. They would indeed be suitable for removal and mounting in a frame. However, I doubt that you'd want to choose more then one of them.
Good quality finish, but unfortunately artistically lacking in inspiration. Not something you'd want to refer back to for photographic inspiration.
