Disappointing book as so many projects are simply revisions,

I thought this book would offer numerous ideas for painting cards, but many of the projects are revisions of the same scene. This means that, if you don't particularly want to paint ships on the water, for example, there are wasted pages where you are simply offered differently coloured versions of the same picture. There are therefor too few projects to practise. It was disappointing.

a usefull addition to the collection,

It won't blow you socks off but this is a very useful book and one I feel disserves to be in your collection of art books. The variations on similar themes I found useful to inspire the creation and composition of your own ideas. In short a good book with useful ideas that inspires you to use your imagination to create your own work.
