Judith Christine (J.C.) Mills was born in Yorkshire, England, and has lived in Canada since early childhood. A painter and sculptor, Mills has also written and illustrated a number of children's books (including "The Painted Chest", an inspirational fable about the transformative power of music and art) and authored a trilogy of fantasy novels: The Goodfellow Chronicles - comprised of "The Sacred Seal", "The Messengers" and "The Book of The Sage", and two Young Adult novels: "The Strange Voyage of The Raconteur"(a "coming-of-age" story about a mysterious sailor and his link to an ancient and powerful legend) and "Carew"(an eco-adventure about the discovery of an unusual creature in the foothills of the Himalayas). Mills is currently working on an illustrated historical novel about North American voyageurs ("Philippe and The Magic Cup").
Honors include: nominations for Ontario Canada's Red Maple and Blue Spruce Awards, CBC(Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) Radio's Best Books, Smithsonian Magazine Notable Book Award, PBS Television Parent Recommended Title, 2 Canadian Toy Testing Council Best Book Awards - as well as many favorable reviews from publications such as The American School Library Journal, Books in Canada, Quill and Quire, Resource Links and Amazon. The Globe and Mail (Canada's National Newspaper) included "The Goodfellow Chronicles" trilogy as recommended reading in their July, 2007 article "Where to turn once Harry (Potter) retires."
