Low-budget horror. A team of eight adrenaline junkies applies to participate in the ultimate paintball game. On arrival they are blindfolded and taken deep into a remote forest, and the game begins. But the game soon plunges its players into the realms of nightmare as one team member is hit with a real bullet, and what began as a thrill-seeking sport becomes a desperate struggle for survival.

I bought this film not too long ago. Although this flick had been popping up all over the shops such as Asda, Sainsbury's, etc. for a cheap price. I kept saying that I was going to buy it seems that it wasn't available at my local Blockbuster store.

Well, when I saw it. I thought it was going to one of those 'slasher' type of film. I was expecting a lot more. In the end, it turned out it was a waste of time and space. I got give too much away. But I believe if you see this.. you'll be saying 'what on earth was that all about?'

Anyway, despite it wasn't really that good. The bonus features is a making of featurette. But beware the director and actors speak their own langauge, so you will see subtitles.

As for this, this is a thumbs down. A waste of money and 86 minutes.

As a mix of Severance, The Condemned and Hostel; Paintball actually surprised me by being rather good. It's difficult to recount much of the plot without spoiling the film but basically a group of people are brought together to form a paintball team in an undisclosed location (possibly somewhere in the Soviet Union), their challenge is to locate 6 flags collecting boxes at each point. As with most films of this genre the hunter some becomes the hunted as the team are attacked by a stranger armed with live rounds. The team dynamic starts to dissolve and it becomes a fight to survive.

Although the story isn't original, there are some interesting ideas in the film which make it stand out. I especially liked the use of thermal imaging during the death scenes, although some kills are brutal and in some cases unusual the lack of actually seeing red blood lessens the impact. I'm sure this will be a negative for some viewers, especially those who like there horror films bloody.

Unfortunately the film is let down by some average at best acting, a non existent back story and a cliched plot. However as this appears to be the directors first attempt at a feature film I would like to see what he makes in the future as he seems to have promise.

Paintball is worth a look, maybe better to rent than buy as it isn't brilliant and has little reviewing value. Good film for a night in with mates!

Lets' focus on the positive side.
Some scenes are a wild ride, and there's a certain ambition.... but no.

Why is there all the hate for this film? Look, not everything has to be made in Hollywood. In a way this was intense, good and also a different horror movie, than most of the rubbish that comes from USA. I agree actors could have done little bit more effort, but hey atleast it's not really the crappiest title.

Story is about a group of paintball players who sign-up to do something different for a change. When one of the players is hit by a real bullet, they realize they are being hunted by some-one or somebody. Players one-by-one fall into traps and are killed by the hunter. However some of them fight back. Gore isn't done over-the-top. It's pretty strong, but however pretty mild, if you compare to horror movie Wilderness (2006)

dvd's got some extras and comes with subtitles.
