Might be good for kids using pacifier 24/7 11 Jan. 2009
By B. Swaback - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Board book Verified Purchase
I bought this book for my 22 month old. I bought "Bye Bye Binky" and "No More Pacifiers" at the same time. She much preferred to read the other books (and so did I!). We read this book only a handful of times and it's now collecting dust.

The kids in this book look to be at least 8 years old (if not 10 or 12). The language is fine for toddlers as well as 4-6 year olds. It tells you that pacifiers are not forever, and there are other things you can do to comfort yourself like getting hugs and snuggling.

It teaches other things to do to keep your mouth busy like blowing bubbles and whistling. To be honest, it reminded me too much of the idea that you can replace a cigarette smoker's oral fixation with gum or suckers. This book would be better for kids who use their pacifiers during the day and need to learn there are other fun things to do with their mouth. Not a great book for kids who only use a pacifier at night.

I would recommend No More Pacifiers which also tells about different things you can do without a pacifier except the language is much more appealing to toddlers with rhymes and a sing-song rhythm. For older toddlers/kids, Bye Bye Binky is the story of a cat who eventually sends his pacifier away on a balloon.

Great Book - Great Story for Toddlers' To Relate To! 5 Sept. 2008
By A. Avins - Published on Amazon.com

I think this was a wonderful book. It's simple to understand that pacifiers are not forever, and there comes a time when one grows bigger and it's time to stop using them. I think this books gets the message across really well, giving a lot of positive compliments to a child when they are ready to try and reach that point that they are now "bigger" and "it's time". I would recommend this book to a parent that will soon work with their child to get rid of their pacifier a head of time, so their child knows at some point, they will stop using it. I would also recommend this book for a child that is now ready to give it up, or one that just has and is having difficulty.

Again, A Great Book 6 July 2013

We have found the "Best Behavior Series" to be very helpful. Again, it has proved its worth. We have been trying to introduce the idea of living without a pacifier to our 2 year-old daughter, this book has helped so much. She almost knows the book by heart now. She has been reducing her use of a pacifier, since we got this book. She even asked to have a bye-bye pacifier party with balloons, bubbles, and horns (all items from the book!). We are planning a party now!

I found myself needing to make up additional sentences for the book while reading it to my 2 year old.

My 2-year-old nephew just stopped using his pacifier 26 Feb. 2014
By Patricia Castro - Published on Amazon.com

My nephew loved his pacifier and recently went on a boat trip with his parents and dropped it. He was so sad, but this book helped him realize it was something he had to give up anyway.
