A more contemporary direction,
By A Customer
This review is from: Pacifica (Audio CD)
I have to confess "Pacifica" was not quite what I was expecting - but I like it. It has less of the breathy vocals and sweeping melodies, ("Nitai" and "Lord Of The Universe" (tracks four and nine) excepted) but it is still a colourful collection of accomplished compositions.Overall the album has a fresher, more contemporary sound than her previous works (Benediction Moon and Magical Eclipse) but the elements that made them so uniquely beautiful are still present. I don't think she has compromised, the album still drips with heartfelt joy and peace as the enchanting voice of this singer of soul stories takes you on an emotional journey. Track six "Arrows Fire And Flowers" has a Country sound, whilst the swing-style "Smile At Me" and "Open Your Eyes" is given an unusual twist by the Indian instrumentation. I believe that this will be the album that introduces Pia to a wider audience. If you like new age music, this album is a worthwhile addition to your collection; for those who have not discovered new world music, this could be a good introduction.

Beautiful and Heartfelt,
By A Customer
This review is from: Pacifica (Audio CD)
This is one of my favourite albums. I got introduced to it when Amazon UK recommended it to me as I logged in, and now it is rarely out of my cd player. The Lyrics melt my heart and the sound of Pia's sweet voice makes everything alright again in my little world. The musical arrangments are thoughtful and beautifully thought out, but it is Pia's voice that makes Pacifica a hit for me. I feel she could sing the contents of the phone book, unaccompanied, and it would be gorgeously moving. I hope you read this, Pia, because I, and I suspect several thousand others, need you to make more albums like this one! Long may you record!!

Pacifica CD,

It took me a couple of listens to get into this CD...it was the first time I had experienced Pia's music...I love it and highly recommend it.
Great for contemplative listening: dancing around the room or chilling out.
