The Pacific is an epic 10-part miniseries based on the true stories of WWII Marines. This a Playtone and DreamWorks production was executive produced by Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg and Gary Goetzman, the production team behind the Emmy® Award-winning and Golden Globe®-winning 2001 miniseries Band of Brothers®. In addition to Band Of Brothers, Hanks and Goetzman also executive produced the miniseries John Adams®, which won a record-breaking 13 Emmys® in 2008.
The Pacific tracks the intertwined real-life journeys of three U.S. Marines--Robert Leckie (James Badge Dale), Eugene Sledge (Joe Mazzello) and John Basilone (Jon Seda)--across the vast canvas of the Pacific Theatre during World War II. The miniseries follows these men and their fellow Marines from their first battle with the Japanese on Guadalcanal, through the rain forests of Cape Gloucester and the strongholds of Peleliu, across the bloody sands of Iwo Jima and through the horror of Okinawa, and finally to their triumphant but uneasy return home after V-J Day.
Score Information:
The music featured in this miniseries is by award-winning film composer Hans Zimmer, Geoff Zanelli and Blake Neely. Zimmer has composed music for more than 100 films, including the blockbusters The Lion King, Rain Man, Gladiator, The Last Samurai, Pirates of the Caribbean and The Dark Knight.

Format:Audio CD
I have heard this soundtrack many times now and it keep's getting better everytime .
This Album is Top from the first track on to the last.
Allthough it is music for a War series, You don't have to expect many action filled tracks.
This is more suffering and heroic music.
If you expect Fast and action filled music then this is not your thing.
But i love it
but this is my opinion.

Hans Zimmer and Co should be commended on their efforts for the music from this mini series. The tracks are not the traditional Zimmer sound with bombastic action, instead this is a much more sombre sound, with the majority of tracks being slow paced and emotive. The main title theme "Honour", which is reprised several times, is both patriotic and tragic, setting the tone perfectly. The style of the music is perfectly suited to the picture, and as a separate listening experience. With Zimmer and co often being criticised for producing generic action music, this soundtrack shows they can produce some stunning slower pieces for orchestra. If you like this, you might also like Zimmer's score for The Thin Red Line, and Michael Kamen's score for Band of Brothers (the prequel series to The Pacific).

Fantastic moving
Hans Zimmer is a genius. I watched the HBO series with joy/tears/ horror/ etc etc - the music is intrinsic within all those emotions. Fantastic
