4.0 out of 5 stars Radioheads Debut need i say more 12 Jan 2002
By A Customer
Format:Vinyl
the first album from one of the uks biggest bands. Fueled by the success of the third track Creep Pablo Honey sold really well.
Relative to the other Radiohead albums this is a weak album, but there are actually some quite strong songs on the album. My favourites are Stop Whispering and Thinking about you, which are much similar in style to Radioheads latter albums, The Bends, and Ok Computer.

surprisingly, I never even knew this album existed until I was shown it by one of my Radiohead-obsessed friends. But now, I have truly grown to love this, and has become my favourite radiohead album.Classics such as 'Creep' and 'Ripcord' are teamed with equally great and inspiring songs like 'Vegetable' and 'Anyone can play guitar'. This is a slightly more rocky album than 'The Bends', but with the same ingeniuity we have come to know from this band. An album most certainly not to be missed. Go and buy it! Now!

4.0 out of 5 stars Start of a legend!! 4 Mar 2003
Format:Audio CD
There is no greater band than radiohead, they are the most brilliant british band since Led Zeppelin and their music is emotional, powerful, and often breath aking and this is where it all began. Pablo Honey sold well on the back of hits single 'Creep' which broke them in the USA also. Personally 'Creep' is a fine song but is overated compared to the genius that they would come up with later. Pablo Honey itself has contains better songs than 'Creep'. 'Anyone Can Play Guitar' and 'Stop Whispering' which were both singles are a much more challenging and enjoyable listen.
Compared to the might of 'The Bends' and the astounding 'OK Computer' this album sounds primative and dated but its a nice album overall, and enjoyable laidback listen and a must for all radiohead fans.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tom et al do not disappoint
Great album - as you'd expect from Radiohead - while not their absolute best offering, it does exactly what it says on the tin.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Enjoyable
I think there are 2 distinct camps when it comes to Radiohead, you either prefer their newer music or their older music.

I am unashamedly in the 2nd camp! Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Strong Debut
When a band has a track record of albums that includes 'OK Computer' and 'The Bends', its easy to slate 'Pablo Honey' for being slightly stale and unimaginative in comparison. Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Honey - we've blew up an album!
I think i am in agreement with a few other commentators and have often wondered why Pablo Honey gets such a hard time from Radiohead critics and indeed, Radiohead. Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars nascent genius
'The Bends' is brilliant, 'OK Computer' is the masterpiece, and this 'Pablo Honey' - Radiohead's first - is pretty good, and well worth having in the collection. Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars A seriously bad album with one great song
It's very much of its time, as it's very post-Nirvana, post-Pixies generic alternative rock. If they had more than one actual song they might even have been a bland but competent... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic
Great album. Very loud screaming-guitar-based rock, which to me is more uplifting than the miserable electronica they degenerated to later on. Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars As good as i ever was!
Brillient album, this was one of my back catelogue that I only ever had as a copy on tape. I was listen to it the other day and my machine ate the tape, so time to buy the cd. Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Great version of an OK album
They started off as pale Pixies clones on the coattails of the now-reviled wave of British Indie. Radiohead could so easily have ended up like Kingmaker, one hit wonders rubbing... Read more
