If you are new to solving puzzles, this is a 5 star book. It has a great selection of some of the most famous puzzles. Most of these can be seen at the FAQ for rec.puzzles, just do a Google search. A few puzzles date back 4000 years, when the scribe Ahmes put them on the Rhind papyrus, with the comment "some of these problems are really old." Despite their age, the author has selected well.

If you have other puzzle books, then you've likely seen every other puzzle in here before. For new puzzles, a book like Puzzlebook: 100 Puzzle Quizzes will give 100 puzzles that you haven't seen before.

Puzzle programs for the Kindle worth a look are Pirate Stash, Peg Solitaire, Strimko, and Futoshiki.

I love all of Wiseman's books, and this puzzle book is no exception. It is a lot of fun to lounge around and think about some puzzles, my husband and I were looking at some together the other day. A great value, and a good time! :)
