Third time lucky & I've at last found the Big Ben of bike bells after one wore out from overuse on London pedestrians & one was so poorly crafted it broke after the first mile of use (worked great in the living room, just not in motion, duh!).
It's well-crafted and built to last - inside the cover are quality steel parts, not plastic. The ring (imitating the classic Pashley bell that you can hear on YouTube) is authoritative yet elegant, so pedestrians' and drivers' attention will be raised, but not their heckles.
The large size won't be to everyone's taste: it's a full 10" in circumference, 3" in diameter, so birds may nest on it if the bike is unattended for too long ;)
Would happily recommend to anyone who wants to pimp their bell, especially in high traffic/pedestrian areas.
