Cracking reception, long battery life, 26 Dec 2007
This review is from: PURE Move, Portable Rechargeable Palm-sized DAB/FM Radio (Electronics)
I've had quite a few DAB radios over the last 10 years and this is by far the best.
It pulls in DAB signals from further afield than any other unit I've had. Around the house I can use it with the arial stored closed, and I'm not all that near the transmitter. FM is as powerful though I find that it stumbles on autotuning at times, picking up noise between stations, but that's a minor issue.
Sound is pretty good - not really powerful and not hugely bass-y but it's good enough for a unit that is used around the house. Headphone audio is stereo (where broadcast) and sounds better than any other DAB radio I've had.
Battery life is stunning - my Sony personal unit ate 2xAA's in 6 hours, this really does last as long as they claim. I use it about 1 to 2 hours a day and only charge it about once a month.
With headphones it works really well on the move, the headphone lead becomes the arial. I've used it in the car and very rarely get the usual DAB 'burble'.
I also like the aux input - I connect my iPod to it and use the Move as an amplifier - a nice touch for people like me on the move staying in hotels.
It's a really nicely designed unit - the rubber back, brushed steel front and handy stand all make a really well made radio, by one of the better manufacturers.

Pure Pleasure!, 8 April 2007
This is my first DAB radio and what a little cracker it is. I live in a strong signal area so it's not surprising that the Pure Move picks up a huge selection of stations without difficulty. It is easy to operate using the mini joystick and the sound is crystal clear. The pull-out stand is a neat feature and the build quality is such that it should last a lifetime. But what really impresses me is the ability to use it as a DAB tuner. I've connected it to my hi-fi system and it sounds fantastic. If you're looking for a well-built, great sounding and versatile DAB radio I would highly recommend it.

Excellent reception, astonishing battery life!!!!!!!, 6 Feb 2008
This review is from: PURE Move, Portable Rechargeable Palm-sized DAB/FM Radio (Electronics)
We bought this little radio to replace a Pure Pocket, which we returned because it was so disappointing. The Pure Move is everything the Pocket wasn't, and we are delighted with it.
We have had this for a few weeks now and even with regular use it is still on its first charge (approx 40 hours per charge). It is nice and compact, yet the reception is excellent thanks to the aerial, and it picks up loads of stations. The sound quality, with pop/rock/jazz settings etc is changeable to suit most tastes. It is best listened to through headphones, as the external speaker is small, although adequate. Another good feature is the pop-out stand.
The only criticism is that the central control for programme select etc is on the small side, which means that you can sometimes access the wrong mode.
I would recommend this model to anyone looking for a small but robust and reliable digital radio.
