With our well-known green credentials we're all for recycling here at PURE, so when we saw the opportunity to reuse a few design ideas from the 1950s, update the technology and add a PURE twist, we jumped at it.The resulting radio is as cute as it gets, so cute that we think it'll still look good in the 2050s. More than just a design exercise, Mio sounds fantastic too. And so it should: under its retro-modern skin is our very own EVOKE-1S, What Hi-Fi Sound & Vision's 'Best Portable DAB Radio of 2007'.

Mio is our first portable radio to come with a removable ChargePAK pre-installed. Plug it in when you can and the ChargePAK charges while you listen; unplug it, and you've up to 24 hours portable DAB listening per charge.

A classic easy-to-use radio, Mio also includes an input for your iPod/MP3 player, Intellitext® and textSCAN™, FM with RDS, a striking new auto-dimming OLED display, an alarm, a kitchen timer and a USB connector for future product upgrades.

EcoPlus
EcoPlus™ is a statement of PURE's on-going commitment to our environment and its future. It indicates that environmental impact has been considered in the design, manufacture and transport of our products, and has driven both what we do and how we do it.

All EcoPlus products are packaged using cardboard produced with a minimum of 70% recycled material, and finished using water-based varnish. All internal pulp trays are 100% recycled, and the user documentation is printed on 100% recycled paper using Soya-based inks. We also encourage our customers to recycle all packaging materials.

The boxes of EcoPlus products are designed to be the smallest they can be whilst still ensuring the integrity and security of the product inside. This maximises the number of products which can be shipped in each container, and thus minimises the environmental cost of transport.

Energy Saving Recommended

PURE are proud to be able to say that fourteen PURE radios are recommended by the Energy Saving Trust. The PURE Move received the first ever Energy Saving Recommended ("ESR") endorsement for a radio and now the EVOKE Mio has also received ESR accreditation.

Products endorsed by the Energy Saving Trust have to satisfy an Independent Endorsement Panel of experts, draw less than 1W of current in standby and 3.5W in operation and provide a rechargeable alternative to alkaline batteries. The Energy Saving Trust takes into account their energy efficiency, sustainability (to gauge their overall environmental impact), and how economical they are to run.

ChargePAK Inside
Supplied with a pre-installed ChargePAK for up to 24 hours of portable DAB listening per charge. ChargePAK is a rechargeable battery pack which fits into the battery compartment of your radio and charges when the radio is connected to the mains.

High contrast yellow on black graphical auto-dimming OLED display for superior contrast and improved readability.

Line-in
3.5mm input enables you to connect an iPod, MP3 player or portable CD player and use the EVOKE Mio as a portable speaker.

RDS
Support for station name display on FM and RDS scrolling text.

Intellitext Participating stations broadcast sports, news, or traffic reports which are stored on your radio so they are available on demand. Like Teletext on TVs, you can then search this stored scrolling text by category.

textSCAN
This feature enables you to pause and control scrolling text: useful if you want to catch the title of a track, note down a competition phone number or rewind to catch a news item.

Kitchen Timer
Handy countdown kitchen timer ideal for helping you time your cooking to perfection.

Alarm
Easy-to-use tone or radio alarm.

Station Presets
30 presets (DAB or FM) to help you organise your favourite stations.

USB Upgradeability
