I used this book at university for my final year project in AI, I started from knowing nothing about Prolog and AI, to have written an AI game in Prolog, in about 2 months. This book gives a clear and concise view of what can be achieved with Prolog, and with ample of examples I don't need to look anywhere else.

The structure of the book is well planned, it begins with really simple things, then go on to very complicated stuff, while user of the book CAN follow what's happening.

I highly recommend this book to everyone learning Prolog for AI.

This book is clear and well written. Its an excellent first book on Prolog programming. It also takes you far into the subject, up to a point where you should be able to write useable Prolog programs.

Much more clearly written than "Programming in Prolog" Prolog by Clocksin and Mellish, and it covers the same ground.

Prolog is not for everyone. You have to be quite intelligent to be able to use it effectively. And its not a general-purpose language. But Prolog is excellent for some applications, such as writing Expert Systems, Natural Language Parsers, and other A.I. applications.

This book is best used in combination with a prolog compiler/interpreter, so you can try out Prolog as you read about it. There are some free ones available on the Web.

This is a well written book for anyone starting logic programming and especially prolog. The book covers a lot of subjects and offers some good examples in AI problems. It is easy to follow and understand without complicating matters unnecessarily. Definitely recommended to anyone who wants to start declarative programming, very good start.
