Used this for Ironman UK 2014 found it very useful. The bottle can be changed to a standard bottle and my Garmin 500 sitted well just behind the bottle. I had to be careful with the straw as it was set a bit too high and if you get really low if you go over some bumps you can end up stabbing yourself with the straw. Good product easily adjustable. Easily drop in energy tabs in the top.

I find it very useful and drinking on the bike is much safer, more comfortable and saves time in the race - you get what you pay for

best system so far 25 July 2013
By Allison - Published on
This is the third hydration system I have bought for triathlon. Initially I had tried sipstream which worked fine on my old tri bike but when I swapped to my new bike, the mount system just didn't work (plastic bits also did not hold up well). I then tried the speedfil aero, which is similar to this design. What makes this better is it corrected all the problems that I had with the speedfil.
1) it provides a place for a computer mount, so I can keep an eye on my pace and cadence.
2)The bottle has an indent in the back of it that a spring catches on to prevent the bottle from turning (my other system lacked this and the straw would continually turn into my arm).
3) the bottle has a nice rigid hold on the straw rather than using a right angle valve which would also cause the straw twist and turn and cause issues with my previous system.
4)With the bottle 1/2 to 3/4 full I did not have splash on bumps.

I did decide to make one minor modification which was to add a bite valve. Pretty much any bite valve seemed to fit the tube. The mount is so simple yet works on my bike and my husbands and can transfer easily and quickly.

Remember to hydrate! 13 July 2013

LOVE this hydration system. I own another between the aero bars hydration system as well. However, you have to physically remove the bottle and squeeze to drink from it. I know that doesn't sound like much, but this system makes it so much easier while going hard in the aero position while training or racing. I don't have to remove my hands from the aero bars or change my position in any way to hydrate. Plus, the straw sitting right below my face continually reminds me to drink! I won't go back to my previous system. Just make sure to measure twice and cut once before you trim the straw to your preferred height.

Forget the bracket that come with it. I use two Velcro straps and attached it under my aero bars. worked great put it in a better position. This also save quite a lot of weight.

great bottle, but won't fit narrow bars 24 April 2014

First, the good - the bottle is well designed. Easy to refill on the fly and much easier to drink from than having a bottle you need to physically remove. having the hydration in front of my face led me to drink more which is very good.

Second, the bad - the straw is very stiff, buy a bite value before you stab yourself in the face with it. Another major problem is that it doesn't fit between my aerobars, so had to ditch the plastic pieces and use zip ties. a third issue is that the garmin mount is so low you won't be able to see it without looking down. this isn't really safe.

In sum, the idea behind this is great, but the execution is flawed. However, with some engineering you can fix it to work great despite its design issues.

Nice but not quite there 29 Sept. 2013
By tiburon - Published on
I purchased the profile design hydration system after looking over various other brands and this seemed to be the best at the time. Its a little over weight which defeats the aero aspect of the bottle and the computer mount is at the rear of the system which doesn't give you the best sight when tucked in an aero position if your doing triathlons. The new speedfil A4 comes with a removable computer attachment for the Garmin Edge and sits on top of the bottle, perfectly in your line of sight. As per other reviews the straw is way too stiff. Profile should look at the new Nathan system and the speedfil A2 straws, very flexible. If only Profile could combine everything together it would make one awesome system. Back to the drawing board.
