5.0 out of 5 stars Essential Pack For NECAs Predator Collectors 22 Jan 2012
PREDATORS BERSERKER & CITY HUNTER PREDATOR 2 PACK
This TRU exclusive 2 pack has turned out fantastic and is an essential purchase for the City Hunter alone.
The first figure, 'mid-cloak' Berserker Predator from Predators is by far the weakest of the two, the same mould that's been used three times before, but the paint-job is very nice and it includes a backdrop that makes the figure appear camouflaged when placed in front of it. It also contains 2 wrist blades and a super Predator trophy skull.
A nice figure, but the only reason I own it is because I had no choice, I was after the City Hunter.
Now the second figure is essential for Predator collectors. The City Hunter Pred from Predator 2.
This figure can be purchased separately in Predators Series 4 but it is the unmasked version and has less accessories.
This version contains a spine 'trophy', first seen with last years SDCC Gort Predator, his disc weapon, an alternative hand, and both extended and retracted version of his staff.
The paint work is solid and it contains new improved leg articulation.
The original plan for this two pack was for it have the City Hunter Pred packed with the Warrior Alien from Aliens, making it a sort of 'sequel' two pack to the earlier Classic Predator and Alien 2pack from NECA, now that would have been amazing. But as it is, its a great 2 pack and the best version of the City Hunter figure ever made.
They come in nice clamshell packaging, and it features photos of all ten 'lost' Predators made or currently being made by NECA.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Piece 24 May 2012
Verified Purchase
Durability: 3.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 2.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
This product is, in short, pretty amazing. Having seen Predator and Predator 2 only, I was mostly after the City Pred in this pack, and after having read some reviews, I decided that this was a better bet than buying the City Pred on its own. This, I am coming to realise, has been a good call.

The figures themselves are fantastic. The City Pred is by far the better of the two - more poseability, better colouring, more functions and more detail - but the Beserker is not to be left out. The Beserker figure is, admittedly, not the best. The supposed removable blade does not fit its slot very well, and keeps falling out on my figure. (Also, I believe the description specified two removable blades and I only recieved one.) Perhaps by no fault of the designers, but rather those who proposed the idea, is that the mid-cloak idea works perfectly well on the drawing board but isn't so good in reality. The paintwork on the other side of translucent parts tints the cloaked areas an unusual purple colour. Also, one of the thighs is a tan brown rather than a grey/black due to the same reason reversed. The Beserker also can't stand terribly well - his feet are not as wide as those of the City Pred's.

Now, accessories. This set comes with many fantastic extras, the best of them being the extended spear and Smart Disc for sure. The interchangeable hand for the City Pred works perfectly with the spears (both extended and retracted). The Smart Disc is a little difficult to make the Predator hold, but when he's got it he's really got a grip on it. The Smart Disc also fits in a holster on his thigh. the trophy skulls are really something - the Super Predator skull even has a hinging jaw; the details are incredible.

5.0 out of 5 stars A delightful surprise! 9 May 2012
Durability: 3.0 out of 5 stars    Educational: 1.0 out of 5 stars    Fun: 5.0 out of 5 stars
I initially only bought this for the sake of the masked version City Hunter and didn't care much for the Cloaked Berserker, but I was pleasantly surprised.

1. First thing's first, the packaging is MUCH better than other Prefator figures. Whereas they are in an easily damaged blister card (cardboard back) with plastic display window glued to the front, this two pack comes in a clamshell box (everything is a clear plastic with the display card inside). As a result it is much more durable, great for those who like to keep their figures in the box, like me.

2. The figures themselves are immaculately sculpted with a near perfectly detailed paint job. The netting pattern on City Hunter is immaculate. The Berserker was the real surprise. I thought i wasnt going to like this figure too much as im not a fan if the cloaked thing. But the all-black colouration with some translucent parts made this version look much more menacing than the standard masked and unmasked variants. This figure makes his movie nickname "Mr. Black" so ironically appropriate.

3. Finally the accessories are what makes this product stand apart from other NECA Prefators. You get 2 translucent wristblades for the Berserker and a backdrop to make use of the camouflaged colouring. There's also a Predator skull, a human skull/spine, a smart disc and two combo sticks (spears) one extended for battle, thr other retracted. These are mostly the City Hunters but of course are interchangeable with any Predator that can hold them.

This is a must for any NECA Prefator collection.
