I wish i knew about this when I'd had my baby, many years ago now.
This item brings excellent relief for anyone from new mothers to people suffering gyne or colorectal issues, especially post op. Just fill the bidet about half way with bath temperature water and add 1 tablespoon of bicarb and 3 tablespoons of common salt. It's far more convenient and less expensive than having multiple daily baths and especially if you prefer showers. It gives relief to an often very painful and often difficult area to heal. It has to be better than endless and expensive painkillers. The Americans call these Sitz baths, if you google you will find forums about their benefits.
I might add this item isn't in any of the High Street stores (I tried many) none of the sales assistants I spoke to, had heard of a Sitz bath and Amazon was the only store to stock a portable bidet.
I am not a medical expert and this is only my opinion you could always check with your midwife or GP but I doubt you will be disappointed, it's a very inexpensive and harmless salt bath afterall.
