These poems will make you smile, laugh and think. A wonderful rich collection of wry poems about life. The author has a mischievous, original style - and one that strikes a merry chord. An entertaining anthology.

5.0 out of 5 stars My head is full of Helen's stuffing... 25 Mar 2014
I have been enjoying Helen C Mason's poems for many years now - and they've turned me from a joyless wretch into a fully competent human being with shoes and house keys.

Helen does good work. She will turn you too.

4.0 out of 5 stars Juddery Funnery 11 Jun 2013

I enjoyed every single one of these verses. Some are just pure fun; some have a bit of depth, but are still fun; most are comic rhyming couplets, all with a juddery tempo, a loose meter, but very definitely pleasing for it. There is a theme of sorts, life, basically - from a youngun's giant number two to thoughts that come to mind when enjoying armchair olympics, (watching them that is! Not the smutty take on the saying!) And anyone who writes 'sparkle in the darkle' gets my vote, every time. Well done Helen C Mason.

5.0 out of 5 stars smiles 9 Jun 2013
A smile is seldom an expensive commodity nor, it must be said, inordinately rare. Sometimes however, to obtain ownership of one, at the drop of a hat, may require a little investment. Timing, company, situation and/or place are ingredients that frequently make the difference, in a successful recipe.
'Poems about stuff' is - for the sake of this analogy - the little bag of 'readymix', that takes the work out of the task.
In short, if you are looking for a smile, you will find it between the covers of this book. I personally, know of no better gift.
My advice: download the book - after all, who doesn't want a little feel-good moment, from time to time?
